Description
Bondo Taira is the young master of the OrderMaid Roboco and serves as the central viewpoint character. He is a ten-year-old boy, having celebrated his eleventh birthday during the course of the story, and is a fifth-grade student at Bermuda Elementary School. He is characterized by his short brown hair, black eyes, and his signature round glasses, which are a prominent part of his design. He is also rarely seen without a work cap, a fashion choice he developed to hide his curly hair, for which he has a complex. Standing at a height of around 142 to 147 centimeters and weighing approximately 37 to 40 kilograms, he has a typical build for a child his age.

In terms of personality, Bondo is generally calm, gentle, and kind-hearted. He is an enthusiastic and devoted fan of Weekly Shonen Jump, a passion that greatly influences his life and his interactions with others. Despite his soft demeanor, he often finds himself acting as the straight man, or the voice of reason, forced to react with exasperation to the chaotic and absurd antics of Roboco and his friends. While he can be academically below average and struggles with sports, he possesses a high degree of emotional intelligence. He has the ability to see past rumors and first impressions to recognize the true kindness in people, a trait that has allowed him to form strong bonds with his classmates. He is an optimist who often accepts strange situations with a casual "well, it's fine," and he is always willing to encourage friends who are having a hard time. He values honesty, readily admits his own faults, and hates cheating.

Bondo's primary motivation, which drives the plot, is his dream of owning his own OrderMaid, just like his friends. After convincing his mother, they acquire Roboco, a bizarre and overpowered maid who is the opposite of what he had hoped for. Though initially perplexed by her appearance and clumsy, destructive behavior, he quickly recognizes her good nature after she saves him from a crisis and wholeheartedly welcomes her as a member of his family. His role in the story is to be Roboco's master and the anchor of normality in their household. He tolerates her extreme methods of being a helpful maid, and despite the constant stress and concern she causes him, he genuinely cares for her and feels lonely when she is not around.

His key relationships are central to the narrative. He shares a deep and complicated bond with his maid, Roboco. He also has strong friendships with his classmates Gachi Gorilla and Motsuo Kaneo. The three of them did not get along initially, as the latter two used to bully him. However, Bondo's unwavering sincerity and refusal to see them as enemies eventually won them over, transforming their rivalry into a genuine and loyal friendship. This pure-hearted and forgiving nature also earns him the affection of other classmates, including Madoka and Ruri. Beyond his friendships, his deep love for manga has led him to take on the role of Editor-in-Chief of the Shonen Bermuda Editorial Club, a school club dedicated to creating a manga magazine that aims to surpass Shonen Jump.

While Bondo has no superhuman abilities, his notable skills lie in his intelligence and character. He is clever enough to see through falsehoods and recognize true intent, and he has a large heart that allows him to accept people as they are. He is also an encyclopedia of manga knowledge, which surprisingly allows him to occasionally get good grades when the tests happen to cover facts he has learned from educational manga. His development throughout the series is subtle but present, as he grows more accustomed to the chaotic life Roboco brings, learning to balance his desire for a normal, peaceful life with his deep affection for his eccentric robot companion.
