Description
In the narrative of Fate/strange Fake, the Servant summoned under the Assassin class is a figure defined by an unwavering and absolute devotion to her faith. She is known only as the Nameless Assassin or simply the Zealot, having discarded her original name upon achieving the status of a Heroic Spirit. Her existence serves as a profound exploration of faith, purpose, and the very definition of a worthy life, set against the chaotic backdrop of a false Holy Grail War.

The Zealot was once a member of the secret order of the Assassins, the Hashshashin, from which the Assassin class derives its name. Her piety was unmatched within the cult, and she harbored the singular ambition of becoming the nineteenth leader to bear the name Hassan-i-Sabbah, the Old Man of the Mountain. In pursuit of this goal, she dedicated herself to a grueling task: mastering the unique and extraordinary techniques, the Zabaniya, of the previous eighteen leaders. She succeeded in this impossible endeavor, learning and replicating the divine arts of all her predecessors. However, rather than being celebrated, her success was met with fear and rejection by the order's elders. They denied her the title not for a lack of skill or faith, but because of her nature. Unlike the stealthy, shadow-bound killers the order prized, the Zealot was a warrior at heart, inclined to confront and crush her enemies directly. The elders feared that her methods would expose the organization and corrupt its essence. Convinced by their excuse that her faith was insufficient, she spent the rest of her life in obscurity, practicing her beliefs with even greater fervor.

Her personality is a direct reflection of her backstory. She is utterly serious, disciplined, and devout to a degree that borders on the absolute. Her thinking is straightforward and linear; once she has identified a goal or an enemy, she pursues it with a single-minded intensity that leaves no room for doubt or hesitation. This simplicity, however, does not equate to a lack of intelligence. She is perceptive and capable of complex reasoning, but her conclusions always funnel back into the core directives of her faith. She holds herself to an incredibly high, almost punishing standard, and is quick to chastise herself for any perceived failure or imperfection in her conduct. Despite her designation as an Assassin, her straightforward, combat-oriented approach is a conscious deviation from the class’s norms, making her feel more like a holy warrior than a hidden killer.

The Nameless Assassin’s motivations are unique among the Servants summoned for the war. She has no personal wish for the Holy Grail itself; in fact, she views the very concept of a device that grants wishes as a blasphemous object that contradicts her belief that all grace comes from God alone. Her primary motive upon being summoned is not to win the war, but to eradicate it. She despises the ritual of the Holy Grail War as a heretical ceremony performed by magi who defy divine order. Consequently, she sees all magi participating in the war as targets to be eliminated. This unwavering moral code is reflected in her unusual alignment of Lawful Good, a stark contrast to the Chaotic or Evil alignments typical of the Assassin class. She is not a killer driven by malice or a desire for power, but by a rigid, internal compass that defines what is pure and what is corrupt. She will not harm innocents or non-combatants, viewing them as potential future believers, and her violence is reserved strictly for those she deems heretics or existential threats to humanity, such as Dead Apostles.

In the story of Fate/strange Fake, she is summoned by a magus named Jester Karture. True to her nature, she immediately kills him upon learning he is a seeker of the Holy Grail. Unbeknownst to her, Jester is a Dead Apostle, a type of undead she considers an abomination, and he survives using his unique abilities, becoming infatuated with her. After severing her connection to him, she forges a pragmatic alliance with the Saber-class Servant and his master, Ayaka Sajyou, who provides her with magical energy. A significant relationship forms with Sigma, the master of the enigmatic Watcher-class Servant. She encounters him and, sensing no murderous intent, treats him not as an enemy but as a neutral party, eventually fighting alongside him. Their interactions reveal a softer, more human side of her, as she expresses a desire to save Sigma from his own nihilistic past, a wish that surprises even herself. Her primary relationship, however, remains with Jester. He becomes the central target of her crusade within the war, representing everything she despises: a defiler of humanity who seeks to use a heretical artifact.

Throughout the narrative, the Nameless Assassin undergoes subtle but significant development. Initially presented as an unshakeable, almost mechanical agent of her faith, she is forced to confront her own shortcomings. Her failure to immediately recognize Jester as a Dead Apostle leads to a deep crisis of self-doubt, causing her to question her own judgment and the purity of her faith. This culminates in a moment of profound guidance from the True Assassin, another Servant in the war who is a legitimate Hassan-i-Sabbah. He does not give her answers but instead forces her to look inward, leading her to a place of renewed, self-affirmed conviction rather than blind adherence. She learns to accept her own methods and nature, moving from a path of imitation of the eighteen legendary leaders to forging her own way as a warrior of faith. This evolution is most powerfully demonstrated in her use of her Noble Phantasm, not as a desperate replication of another's power, but as a deliberate and powerful act of will to protect others and buy time for her allies.

The Nameless Assassin’s abilities are extraordinary and central to her identity. Her primary skill is her prodigious talent for learning and replicating the techniques of others. Her Noble Phantasm, Zabaniya:幻想血統, literally "Fantasy Bloodline," is the crystallization of this talent. It allows her to freely restructure her own body to temporarily wield any of the eighteen Zabaniya techniques of the previous Hashshashin leaders. These techniques are varied and devastating. Examples include the 妄想心音 Zabaniya, which creates a cursed double from an opponent's reflection to kill them, the 夢想髄液 Zabaniya that causes a target's bodily fluids to combust, and the 空想電脳 Zabaniya that transmutes a target's brain into an explosive. While she can use them all, each replicated technique is slightly less powerful than the original wielder’s version, a limitation that reflects her nature as a learner rather than an innovator. Her other skill, 狂信 A (Fanaticism), grants her immense mental fortitude, allowing her to shrug off mental interference and overcome trauma with superhuman speed. Her Assassin-class skill is 気配遮断 A- (Presence Concealment), which is paradoxically of a very high rank, allowing her to approach undetected, even though her preferred combat style often abandons stealth the moment she engages an enemy.
