Description
Malcolm Eden is a middle-aged cybernetically augmented boxer competing in mechanical martial arts. He sports a mustache, prosthetic arms, and a prosthetic helm covering his head, featuring an optical lens replacing his right eye. Typically silent and tough, he displays a ruthless, amoral approach in the ring within the anime adaptation, frequently deploying illegal moves that kill opponents since his demotion to Grade III. Despite this, he possesses a sense of honor; upon realizing he had reached his physical peak and could not advance further, he requested Levius Cromwell defeat him, preferring an honorable death over decline.

His background notes he was once a high-ranking fighter in the East Conference during his prime. As he aged and his abilities declined, he underwent extensive cybernetic modifications to continue competing. Career downturn led to dissatisfaction, fostering a "death seeker" mentality in the manga.

In the manga, during a bout against Levius Cromwell, Malcolm recognized his cooling system could not sustain him. After an aggressive second-round assault, Levius pierced Malcolm's chest and tore off his left prosthetic arm. Levius then overwhelmed him, fatally striking despite intervention attempts. Malcolm had explicitly asked Levius to kill him to avoid decline, accepting death with a smile per the fighters' code. Contrastingly, in the anime adaptation, Malcolm survives the match and does not request death. He retires from boxing and establishes a charity for injured boxers and soldiers' families. He later volunteers to assist Levius's training team, mentoring him for his fight against A.J. Langdon and teaching him the "Sidewinder" technique.

As a fighter, Malcolm relied on heavy cybernetic enhancements to maintain competitiveness past his prime. He developed the unique "Sidewinder" punching technique, which involves sliding his forward foot outward during a strike to alter its trajectory mid-motion, enabling him to bypass an opponent's guard. He taught this technique to Levius prior to the Langdon match, and it is likely known only to them.
