TV-Series
Description
Greg Fou Seberg is a supporting character from the Kingdom of Holfort, where he is the heir to the Count Seberg family. He is a member of the group known as the Prince’s Entourage and is one of the original capture targets in the otome game that serves as the world's foundation. He is a tall, well-built teenager with short, fiery red hair and crimson eyes. His academy uniform is typically worn in a disheveled and unkempt manner, consisting of gray trousers, black shoes, a rumpled light blue shirt, and a black blazer, a style that mirrors his brash and impetuous personality.
In the early parts of the story, Greg is characterized by his hot-tempered nature and immense confidence in his own combat abilities. He is a staunch believer in raw, unfiltered skill and prides himself on his significant real-world combat experience, having already worked as an adventurer before enrolling in the academy. This experience leads him to openly dismiss nobles who lack practical battle knowledge, often putting him at odds with more studious individuals like his peer, Chris. His belief system revolves around fair combat, and as a result, he looks down upon the use of specialized or tactical equipment, viewing it as a crutch for the weak.
Greg’s role in the story becomes prominent during the duel where the Prince’s Entourage acts as representatives for Marie Fou Lafan. Facing the protagonist Leon Fou Bartfort, Greg charges into battle with a flurry of attacks, fueled by overconfidence. However, Leon ruthlessly exploits Greg's refusal to use proper equipment, brutally shattering his mass-produced armor. When Greg attempts to continue the fight unarmored, the referee declares Leon the victor. This defeat is a major turning point. As a consequence of the loss, Greg is stripped of his titles and his engagement is annulled, leading him and the rest of the entourage to be effectively disowned by their families. They remain at the academy, training relentlessly to regain their honor.
Despite his initial hatred for Leon, Greg’s perspective gradually shifts. In a later mission to subjugate air pirates, Greg and his comrade Brad Fou Field are only able to participate by borrowing Leon’s repaired armor. When they falter against the pirate leader and are defeated, Leon is forced to rescue them. Rather than take full credit, Leon instead grants Greg the achievements from the battle, helping to lift the censure from his parents and reinstating his inheritance. This act of selflessness causes Greg to develop a deep sense of admiration for Leon, realizing the true size of the man's character.
His primary personal motivation throughout the series is a desire for redemption and self-betterment. His pride is a constant balancing act, often creating competitive friction with others, but it is equally tied to a deep loyalty to his group. Together with the rest of the Prince’s Entourage, he works tirelessly to reclaim their standing. This is most evident when they pool their resources to construct a new, powerful suit of armor from scavenged parts to challenge Leon once more in a duel. This costly gamble underscores Greg’s tenacity and refusal to give up, even if his unshaken boldness and impulsive nature in battle continue to undermine his progress.
Regarding his notable abilities, Greg is considered the strongest in hand-to-hand combat and the most combat-experienced among the five members of the entourage. His primary weapon is a spear. His significant growth is marked by a change in his philosophy; whereas he initially shunned special equipment as a crutch, he later learns to freely utilize the new weapons and armor provided by Leon, understanding that being well-prepared is a legitimate part of strength. This evolution allows him to become a more effective and reliable fighter in the later arcs of the story.
