Description
Lavender is a supporting character in the anime Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside, first appearing prominently in the second season. She is a self-proclaimed fairy who constantly accompanies Van of Flamberge, the new hero. In truth, Lavender is not a fairy at all but a member of a mythical and long-extinct race of dark archfae known as the Ketu. This race was so feared for its destructive power that the ancient elves systematically exterminated them, leaving Lavender as the sole survivor. She managed to hide from the world for a very long time until she laid eyes on Van.
Lavender has a deep and obsessive devotion to Van, treating him as her sole purpose in life. She supports his decisions without hesitation, even when those decisions go beyond normal morals and common sense. Her affection for him is intense and borders on the fanatical, and she is extremely hostile toward anyone she perceives as a threat to him. Despite the dangerous nature suggested by her true origins, her actions are driven more by overwhelming love and loyalty than by malice. She has deliberately taken on a fairy-like appearance, including wings, a dress, and a small frame, solely because she believes this form is one that Van would love and accept.
In the story, Lavender acts as Van's closest companion and most loyal ally. She is described as his best friend, having known him long before the Hero's Blessing began to take hold of his mind and drive him toward instability. She remains fiercely loyal to him in all important matters, often siding with him even when others might object. Her relationship with Van is the central anchor of her character, and she has no other apparent personal goals outside of being by his side.
Beneath her small and seemingly harmless exterior, Lavender hides terrifying power, a remnant of her dark archfae heritage. This power makes her a formidable figure, though it is usually kept concealed. Over the course of the series, Lavender's presence becomes increasingly significant as Van's struggle with the influence of the Hero's Blessing intensifies. Her unwavering dedication to him situates her as a key figure in the unfolding conflict surrounding the new hero's fate.
