Description
Carletto is the prince of Monster Land, dispatched to the human world by his father, the King, as essential ascetic training to prepare him for future kingship. This journey forms his core mission and developmental arc across all adaptations.

He navigates the challenges of the human realm alongside his three constant attendants: Dracula, who substitutes human blood with tomato juice and frequently uses the verbal tic "damasu"; Wolfman, who handles household duties and ends sentences with "gansu"; and Franken, characterized by significant physical strength but limited intellect. Their group dynamics are central throughout various media. Together, they confront threats primarily from antagonistic forces like the demon group Demonish.

The live-action television drama adaptation slightly expands his background, depicting his departure from Monster Land occurring on the very day of his intended succession to the throne, directly ordered by his father. This version introduces Demorina, the leader of a demon group targeting him, as a recurring antagonist. The live-action film continuation, set about a month after his return to Monster Land for coronation, follows a disrupted ascension ceremony that forces him back to the human world to confront new threats, including scenes set in a fictional "Curry Kingdom."

Carletto's core characteristics—youthful leadership, dependence on his monstrous companions, and ongoing confrontations with demonic adversaries—remain consistent across the original manga, multiple anime series (1968 monochrome and 1980 color versions), and live-action adaptations. The 1982 film "Kaibutsu-kun: Demon no Ken" is listed among the media. OVAs, spin-offs, or other extended media maintain the established premise and characterizations without introducing significant new background elements or character evolution beyond the outlined adaptations.
