Description
Ivy is the central protagonist of the series. Originally born with the name Femicia, she is a young girl who was forced to flee her home village after being deemed "starless" by her community's appraisal system. At the age of five, her Tamer ability was evaluated and received a rank of zero stars, a designation considered an ill omen and a sign of rejection by the gods. Prior to this appraisal, she had a normal life, but afterward, her family turned against her, subjecting her to mistreatment and eventually casting her out. The only person who showed her kindness was a blind fortune teller named Luba, who taught her how to survive and gave her books. When Luba fell ill and the village refused to help, she died, and the village elder used the situation to turn the townspeople into a mob intent on killing Ivy. After learning of the fortune teller's death and the threat against her life, Ivy cut her hair, disguised herself as a boy, and chose a new name for herself to fully sever ties with her old existence.

In terms of personality, Ivy is remarkably resourceful and mature for her age, a direct result of the trauma she endured and the necessity of surviving alone in the wilderness. She is cautious, often paranoid, and deeply struggles to trust adults, constantly fearing that they will discover her secret and reject or kill her as her family did. Despite the cruelty she has faced, she is not bitter but rather compassionate, a trait that defines her interactions with others. She is also highly intelligent and logical, frequently startling those around her with insights that seem beyond her years. Due to being undernourished and disguising herself as a boy, she often appears younger than she actually is. One of her defining internal experiences is that she possesses vague memories of a past life as a person from another world, and these memories occasionally surface to offer her guidance, represented by a bell-like sound.

Ivy's primary motivation is simply to survive and find a place where she belongs. After being rejected by her home village, she decides to journey toward the capital, as the fortune teller had once advised her to see the world and meet new people. Her goal is not to gain power or revenge but to live a peaceful life, relying on her wits and the few skills she possesses. Her role in the story is that of a wandering survivor who, despite being considered the weakest and most cursed member of society, proves that compassion and cleverness can be forms of strength.

Ivy's most important relationship is with Sora, a tiny, weak slime she finds in the forest that was on the verge of disintegrating. Because her Tamer skill is so feeble, it allowed her to befriend the fragile creature without harming it, whereas a stronger Tamer would have killed it. She names him Sora, and he becomes her first and most trusted companion. Sora has a unique ability to consume expired potions and items that Ivy finds in the trash, and by doing so, he grows and develops special powers, including the ability to sense whether people have malicious intent. Their bond is built on mutual survival and trust, and Sora is often the only being Ivy feels she can rely on. As the story progresses, she also forms a bond with a Druid who shares a similarly unhappy past, and she eventually tames a massive black panther-like creature called an adandala, which she names Ciel, who becomes a powerful protector.

Ivy undergoes significant character development as her journey continues. She starts as a deeply traumatized child who expects only rejection from the world, having been abused, forced to flee for her life, and left with no one to trust. As she travels from one town to the next, she slowly and tentatively begins to open up to others, learning that not all people are cruel and that she can find allies. Her journey is one of self-acceptance, as she gradually sheds the belief that her starless status defines her worth, realizing that her value comes from her actions and the connections she makes. Eventually, she is happily adopted by her traveling companion, the Druid, marking a significant step in her healing process.

Despite her low rank, Ivy possesses several notable abilities that allow her to survive. She is an excellent cook, able to create delicious and nutritious meals from whatever scraps she can find, often using medicinal plants in ways that surprise others. She has become a skilled trapper, catching small animals and even snakes. In an ironic twist, her inability to kill snakes for a chemist leads her to capture them alive, which actually earns her more money because the living specimens can provide more venom for medicines. One of her most valuable skills is her use of magical detection. While she has almost no mana reserves to perform typical magic, she is very adept at using her ability to sense the presence of living things, which serves as a psychic radar and has saved her life many times.
