Description
Takuru Miyashiro, a third-year student at Hekiho Academy and president of the newspaper club, investigates the "New Generation Madness Resurgence" serial murders haunting Shibuya. Orphaned six years prior by the Shibuya Earthquake, he first resided at Aoba Dorm before relocating to a trailer in Miyashita Park. He embraces the identity of a "right-sider," valuing his ability to discern accurate information and solve urban legends—a mindset concealing a deeper craving to feel unique.
His gigalomaniac abilities enable him to materialize delusions, marking him as a "True Gigalomaniac" with potential surpassing others like Wakui. These powers frequently surface involuntarily, manifesting as accidental skirt-flipping or wind summoning, and are symbolized by his Di-sword. His delusions range from positive scenarios, such as body-swapping with Hana Kazuki, to negative ones, like attempting to rape Serika or murdering a classmate; he insists these remain distinct from his real-world actions.
Key relationships shape his journey:
- **Serika Onoe**: His imaginary friend, made real during the earthquake by his wish for purpose. Unaware of her origin, he depends on her during investigations. Their bond is central, though it never becomes romantic. Creating her fulfilled a need for a parental figure he could infantilize, leading him to later blame himself for the murders she commits.
- **Nono Kurusu and Yui Tachibana**: Adopted sisters from Aoba Dorm. Initial formality with Nono (using family names) softens in her route, reflecting their growing closeness. Romantic possibilities exist due to their non-blood relation.
- **Shinji Itō**: A newspaper club friend later brainwashed into becoming the accomplice "Ed Lucas/Max Cady" under Dr. Sakuma's influence. Shinji's betrayal stems from false beliefs that Takuru abandoned Senri.
His story concludes tragically across endings:
- In **Arimura's route**, he dies protecting Hinae, leaving her delusional about his survival.
- In **Uki's route**, he accidentally kills her with his Di-sword while trying to shield Shinji.
- In the **Common and True endings**, he accepts responsibility for Serika's orchestrated murders, falsely confessing to authorities. This transforms him into a "Hero with Bad Publicity," jailed as the infamous culprit.
The *Silent Sky* epilogue confirms his incarceration three months later. Diagnosed with "Chaos Child Syndrome" as its sole known survivor, his sacrifice ensures Serika lives normally—though she eventually uncovers his fate. He remains imprisoned, rejecting his powers as proof of his commitment to atonement.
