Live action TV
Description
Miho Ichikawa is a character from the 2019 live-action film adaptation of the Hell Girl franchise. She is introduced as a high school student who attends concerts and enjoys music. At one such event, she is groped by a pervert and is rescued by another girl named Haruka Nanjo, who becomes her close friend. This initial act of kindness from Haruka forms the foundation of their bond.

Miho is portrayed as a loyal and caring friend who is perceptive enough to notice when something is wrong with those she cares about. After Haruka is drawn into the orbit of the charismatic but dangerous musician Maki, Miho becomes increasingly concerned by the changes in her friend's behavior. Her concern deepens into determination when she learns through journalist Kudo Jin that Maki has been manipulating Haruka and plans to murder her during a live performance as a ritual sacrifice.

Motivated by a desire to protect Haruka, Miho takes on an investigative role, seeking the truth about Maki's sinister intentions. As the situation escalates and ordinary means of intervention prove inadequate, Miho turns to the supernatural. She accesses the Hell Correspondence, a website that allows those with deep grudges to summon the Hell Girl, Ai Enma, who will send a target to hell in exchange for the user's own soul after death. Miho attends Maki's concert and pulls the red thread on the straw doll, the act that seals the contract. Ai Enma then appears and sends Maki to hell, allowing Miho to rescue Haruka from the stage. Afterward, Miho and Haruka reconcile, and Maki's true nature is exposed to the public.

Miho's role in the story is that of a human protagonist whose emotional journey drives the narrative. She transforms from an ordinary concertgoer into a determined investigator and ultimately into a client of the Hell Girl, willing to sacrifice her own afterlife to save her friend. Her key relationships include her close friendship with Haruka Nanjo, her adversarial connection with the manipulative musician Maki, and her alliance with the journalist Kudo Jin, who provides her with crucial information. In terms of development, Miho moves from a passive witness of events to an active, self-sacrificing decision-maker. She does not possess supernatural abilities; her strengths lie in her observational skills, her persistence, and the depth of her loyalty. Her most notable action is her willingness to invoke the Hell Correspondence, a choice that carries permanent consequences for her own soul.
