Dante Koryu, also known as Drum Koryu (虹龍ドラム, Kōryū Doramu) in Japanese media, is a Spanish Blader who began training with the BC Sol team under Valt Aoi. Witnessing Valt's Sword Valtryek activate Hyper-Flux inspired him to achieve similar resonance with his own Bey, leading him to relocate to Japan for specialized training. There, he joined the Victories team, managed by his uncle Tango Koryu, alongside teammates like Arman Kusaba and Ichika Kindo.
Dante possesses green eyes and cropped blonde hair featuring distinctive blue horn-shaped highlights at each temple, complemented by bronze eyebrows and red-and-yellow facial markings beneath his eyes. His Beyblade Burst Rise attire consisted of a blue jacket with lime stripes, a white collared shirt, red tie, teal pants with light-blue suspenders, white shoes, and a single red fingerless glove on his left hand. His design evolved in Beyblade Burst Surge and QuadStrike to a yellow collared shirt, a jacket with white accents and dual "D" logos, and teal pants with white vertical stripes, while retaining the glove and shoes. When resonating with his Bey, the blue highlights in his hair emit blue flames.
He exhibits an optimistic, earnest, and resilient personality, often persisting in battles until achieving victory. Dante can become overconfident after wins and sometimes unintentionally reveals battle strategies mid-match. He habitually makes intimidating facial expressions when nervous or excited. Dante communicates directly with his Bey's spirit, Dragon, forging a bond that enables synchronization phenomena such as Hyper-Flux.
His Beyblade journey started with Air Knight Vertical Volcanic before Rise. During Beyblade Burst Rise, he primarily wielded Ace Dragon Sting Charge Zan (Attack Mode), Glyph Dragon Sting Charge Zan (Stamina Mode), and Rock Dragon Sting Charge Zan (Defense Mode). Arthur Peregrine destroyed these Beys in Episode 15, prompting Dante to develop Command Dragon Ignition'. He later borrowed Delta Zakuro's Master Layer Base to create Master Dragon Ignition'. In Beyblade Burst Surge, he competed as S-Tier #6 using Triumph Dragon Charge Metal 1A during the Legend Festival and Ultimate Tag Series tournaments. By Beyblade Burst QuadStrike, he wielded Gambit Dragon Karma-Q Zephyr-Q+Eruption-4' in the Lodestar Battle Tournament.
His signature abilities include Dragon Launch (ricocheting off stadium walls for accelerated attacks), Spring Cannon (using the Sting Disc's springs to parry or boost speed), and Ignition Force (rapid acceleration via the Ignition Driver). His synchronization techniques evolved from individual Hyper-Flux (a golden aura enhancing speed and power) to collaborative Rainbow-Flux (a multicolored aura during team resonance) in Rise, and later Lightning Launch in Surge (illuminating his launcher for temporary boosts).
Key relationships include his mentorship under Valt Aoi and an adversarial dynamic with Arthur Peregrine following Dragon's destruction. He experienced a fluctuating rivalry-turned-friendship with Gwyn Reynolds, idolized Delta Zakuro despite Delta's initial apathy, and developed a brotherly mutual respect with Lui Shirosagi after teaming up in tournaments. His friendship with Arman Kusaba involved frequent training and competitions, occasionally leading to clashes.
Across his journey, he transitioned from a novice reliant on enthusiasm to a strategic Blader capable of advanced resonance. In QuadStrike, he confronted challengers like Bel Daizora and Pri Forsythe, demonstrating refined skills with Gambit Dragon.
