Description
Itsuki Takashiro, a human boy, endured profound tragedy. After his mother succumbed to illness, his family faced immense hardship. His father, once president of a large company, was falsely accused of illegal practices. Choosing to protect his company and employees, Itsuki's father took responsibility and died shortly after. The most pivotal moment came when Itsuki witnessed a yo-kai drive his older sister to insanity, causing her to flee to the top of a construction site and jump. In a desperate attempt to save her, Itsuki leaped with her, resulting in both their deaths.

In the afterlife, Itsuki encountered the spiritual being Kukuri-hime, who revealed his sister's soul had been stolen by a yo-kai. Kukuri-hime temporarily resurrected Itsuki as a ghost, granting him a chance to return to the living world under one condition: he must form a meaningful friendship while completing his mission to save his sister's soul. During this resurrected state, Itsuki encountered Shin Shimomachi, a boy attempting suicide after his own mother's death caused by a yo-kai. Itsuki intervened, stopping Shin from drowning himself. This act forged an immediate bond, leading Itsuki to reveal the existence of yo-kai and explain how one had killed his sister.

Itsuki, Shin, and the sorceress Tae Arihoshi formed a team to combat the yo-kai responsible for their families' suffering. They defeated Yamanbaa to obtain a Yo-kai Watch Elder Zero and later traveled to the yo-kai world, where a contest was underway to determine the successor to Lord Enma, the ruler. Itsuki and his friends joined this competition. During the contest, Shien—the son of the current Lord Enma and the true mastermind behind the soul-stealing yo-kai—interfered. In a critical moment, Shien threw Enma the Ancient's sword at Shin, but Itsuki pushed Shin aside, sacrificing himself. This act revealed the truth: Itsuki had been dead all along, sustained only by Kukuri-hime's temporary resurrection.

Following his sacrifice, Itsuki's soul journeyed into Shien's consciousness. There, he fused with Shien's "good heart" to form Yasha Enma, a being that later reincarnated into the current Lord Enma. The fusion also resulted in the creation of Enma's younger brother, Lucas, from Shien's "other heart". As Lord Enma, Itsuki's legacy continued; decades later, he met an elderly Shin one final time, fulfilling a promise tied to their childhood bond. In *Yo-kai Watch 4*, Itsuki appears as a supporting character in his ghostly form, consistent with his unresolved state prior to becoming Enma.

Throughout his journey, Itsuki harbored deep-seated resentment toward yo-kai, especially those possessing humans, due to his sister's fate. However, his experiences with Shin and Tae tempered this animosity, emphasizing themes of reconciliation between humans and yo-kai. His character arc culminated in his transformation from a vengeful ghost into a foundational figure for the yo-kai world's future leadership.
