When Hakuowlo's rebellion overwhelms Kenashikourupe, Benawi accepts defeat, kills Inkalla to spare him potential torture and humiliation, and attempts suicide. Hakuowlo intervenes, convincing Benawi to join his cause instead. Following this transition, Benawi becomes Hakuowlo's trusted Warmaster and later serves Tuskur in the same capacity.
