TV-Series
Description
Qulbutoké, known as Wobbuffet in English-language media, is a Psychic-type Pokémon species featuring a soft blue body shaped like a punching bag and a distinctive black tail marked with two eye-like patterns. This Pokémon actively conceals its tail and reacts with aggression if the tail is threatened. Female specimens possess a red lipstick-like marking absent in males.

Exhibiting a docile nature, Qulbutoké avoids confrontation and never initiates attacks. It inhabits dark environments such as caves to minimize light exposure and protect its tail. When confronted, it inflates its body to endure strikes before retaliating exclusively with counterattacks, relying solely on endurance and retaliation without offensive capabilities. Multiple Qulbutoké engage in passive competitions of stamina, sometimes involving prolonged fasting.

Within *Pokémon Journeys: The Series*, Qulbutoké resides at the Cerise Laboratory in Vermilion City. It functions primarily as a protective entity against intruders, notably deterring a Gengar haunting the facility. Its presence contributes to comedic scenarios, often involving accidental destruction of laboratory equipment during defensive actions. Communication is limited to vocalizing its species name, though laboratory members interpret these utterances contextually.

Qulbutoké shares significant bonds with the Cerise family, particularly their Yamper. Their coordinated efforts manifest during security incidents, jointly repelling threats to the laboratory or Chloe Cerise. While not formally owned by any trainer, its consistent presence establishes it as a de facto laboratory guardian. The Pokémon occasionally participates in the research activities of Ash and Goh, though its involvement remains situational rather than mission-oriented.

Biologically, Qulbutoké evolves from Okéoké (Wynaut) starting at level 15. This evolutionary relationship necessitates specific breeding conditions: when reproducing, Qulbutoké must hold a Sea Incense to produce Okéoké offspring instead of its own species.

Regarding broader media portrayals, no additional narrative arcs, character development, or unique appearances in films, OVAs, or spin-offs beyond its laboratory role are documented.
