Wyper commands the Shandia warriors as a direct descendant of the legendary fighter Kalgara. He emerges as an antagonist in the Skypiea conflict, driven by fierce dedication to reclaiming his people’s ancestral homeland, Upper Yard, from both Skypieans and the tyrannical self-proclaimed god Enel. Centuries of strife fuel his deep mistrust of outsiders, prompting immediate attacks on the Straw Hat Pirates upon their arrival. His aggressive combat style and unyielding resolve earn him the epithet "Berserker."
Tall and muscular, Wyper sports dark brown hair styled in a mohawk that extends into a segmented braid past his waist, later unbraided and shoulder-length after the timeskip. Small wings mark his Shandian heritage, while green-and-red anime tattoos (black in manga) cover his left shoulder and face. He typically wears a grass skirt, a rope belt adorned with fang-like ornaments, round earrings, and smokes cigarillos. Post-timeskip, he adds a guard's coat tied at his waist.
His personality centers on intense loyalty to the Shandia and fulfilling Kalgara’s legacy, manifesting as extreme violence against Skypieans and Blue Sea dwellers. A pivotal motivation involves Mont Blanc Noland—Kalgara’s friend—as Wyper believes ringing Shandora’s Golden Bell will grant Noland peace. Despite his aggression, he demonstrates capacity for change, aligning with Luffy against Enel when goals converge.
As the strongest Shandia warrior, Wyper excels in close-quarters combat using Skate-type Wavers for mobility. His primary weapon, the Burn Bazooka, ignites gas via Breath Dials. He wields a ballistic shield for defense and Seastone-lined weapons against Devil Fruit users. His most formidable tool is the Reject Dial, whose lethal recoil kills most users after one use; Wyper survives employing it thrice due to extraordinary endurance, enduring direct assaults from Enel and an Axe Dial blast to his back.
Inspired since childhood by tales of Shandia’s displacement and Noland’s fate, he commits wholly to his people’s cause. Six years pre-Skypiea events, he rejects peace overtures from Gan Fall (then Skypiea’s God), demanding either stolen land or 100 Skypiean heads, cementing his uncompromising reputation.
During the Skypiea Arc, Wyper spearheads Shandia warriors in Enel’s "Survival Game," battling priests and temporarily allying with the Straw Hats upon learning Luffy seeks to ring the Golden Bell for Noland’s descendant, Cricket. In the climax, his third Reject Dial use destroys the Giant Jack beanstalk, enabling Luffy to reach Enel’s ship and save Skypiea. Wyper collapses from injuries but survives.
Post-conflict, Wyper abandons hatred for Skypieans, joining efforts to rebuild Upper Yard. He later enlists in the God’s Guards under Gan Fall’s restored rule. By the timeskip, he maintains peace alongside former adversaries, embodying Shandia-Skypiean reconciliation.
