When Meliodas arrives at the temple, she recoils in shock, misidentifying him as Solaad—a young Celestial—until his wingless form reveals the error. Later, she shelters Hawk, Meliodas’s talking pig companion, nurturing him while recounting tales of the Great Oshiro, the clan’s ancient savior who thwarted the Demon Clan millennia ago. Convinced a beam of white light shrouding Hawk signals his link to Oshiro, she initiates a sacred ritual, only for Meliodas to disrupt her fervor by highlighting Hawk’s true pink hue.

As the Six Knights of Black assault the temple to awaken the Indura, Vaness implores a hesitant Hawk to act. She confronts the demon Derocchio with her Ark magic—a luminous force that erodes darkness—yet falters against his might, fleeing with Hawk. Though wary of Meliodas’s demonic lineage, she begrudgingly cooperates when Solaad and allies extend their trust.

In the climactic struggle, she unites with her kin to funnel their Ark energy into Solaad’s Winged Sword, bolstering the sealing of the Indura Baruja. Post-battle, she marvels that forces beyond Oshiro—specifically the Seven Deadly Sins and comrades—could challenge such evils.
