Description
Natsume Amano is the 13-year-old daughter of Nathan "Nate" Adams and Katie Forester, living in Springdale with her younger brother Keisuke Amano. Her paternal grandparents are Aaron and Lily Adams, with great-grandparents Nathaniel and Lucy Adams. Her maternal grandparents are Jason and Rebecca Forester, and her maternal great-grandparents are Kenny and Kelly Forester.

She possesses dark brown eyes and hair, typically worn in braids reminiscent of her paternal great-grandmother's youth. Her standard outfit is a high school uniform: a white shirt, pale-yellow vest, blue blazer, pink bowtie, black skirt, knee-socks, and brown shoes. Casually, she wears a red-collared white t-shirt, jean shorts, and red hi-tops. When accessing her Oni powers, she transforms physically. A semi-awoken state reveals small horns, sharp red nails, red eyes with dark eye shadow, a dark blue or pink aura, and loosened braids. Her fully awoken form features longer horns, pointed ears, chin-length hair, a red dress with purple and yellow accents, and a red forehead bindi.

Her personality is fundamentally selfless, stemming from a childhood drowning incident where an unknown savior rescued her. This fuels her lifelong drive to help others indiscriminately, often prioritizing their safety over personal consequences like tardiness or danger. She exhibits a strong sense of justice, attentiveness to both human and Yo-kai concerns, and occasional sarcasm, especially towards overbearing Yo-kai like Sly. She also inherits her father's fierce temper, capable of intimidating Yo-kai when provoked. As the reincarnation of the Oni princess Juno, she initially fears this legacy but ultimately embraces it to combat greater threats.

Her key relationships include Saki Machida, her closest school friend whose safety motivates her during events like the Onimaro possession. With her brother Tate, she shares protective loyalty despite frustration over his Yo-kai skepticism. She deeply admires her father Nathan, seeking his guidance and discovering his past as a legendary Yo-kai Watch user during shared adventures. Cole, met in elementary school, initially clashes with her due to corruption by the Kigan Gear, but she later redeems him by revealing his parents' love. Bruno earns her trust during the Onimaro crisis, though she frequently challenges his methods. She also safeguards her classmate Isabelle from supernatural threats.

Within the Oni Tribe, Theo (Shutendoji in disguise) and Voidera pledge loyalty upon recognizing her as Juno's reincarnation, though she resists Theo's efforts to fully awaken her past self. Voidera sacrifices himself to protect her from Overseer. Her connection to Juno evolves from apprehension to acceptance, culminating in awakening Juno's spirit to defend the world; Juno's spirit departs her body after fulfilling this purpose.

Wielding the Yo-kai Watch Arcane (or Yo-kai Watch Elder), gifted by Whisper, she summons Yo-kai via Keystones to thwart the Oni King Rasen's invasion. In *Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King*, she confronts the Onimaro infection transforming her mother and brother, partnering with Yo-kai like Jibanyan to defeat Rasen. The anime sequel sees her co-founding the Yo-kai Detective Agency with Touma and Akinori, solving supernatural cases while balancing school life. Critical developments include her Oni powers awakening during crises like Keisuke's kidnapping or near-fatal encounters, enabling her to combat entities such as Overseer.

In *Yo-kai Watch 4*, she is playable, leading the Detective Agency in investigations before reuniting with her time-displaced father. She aids in resolving a time paradox threatening her and Tate's existence, retrieves artifacts like the Suzaku Soutenzan, and travels across timelines to stabilize reality. Her fully realized abilities, including summoning entities like Merameraion and collaborating with allies across eras, underscore her role in confronting multidimensional threats.
