Description
Manana Nonomura is Chio Miyamo's childhood friend since elementary school, attending Samejima Private Academy alongside her. Their lengthy friendship intertwines collaboration with mutual betrayal, as Manana often manipulates situations for personal gain or abandons Chio during hardships, shaping their shared commute experiences.

Manana aspires to be a popular "normie," carrying a makeup kit to craft a "pure, beautiful girl" or "mature woman" persona, though her attempts falter into awkwardness. She fabricates stories—like invented romantic experiences—to impress peers such as Yuki Hosokawa, inserting herself into popular social circles despite frequent exposure of her lies. Despite projecting normalcy, she harbors a mischievous streak and relishes chaotic scenarios.

Her abilities include surprising physical strength when angered, contrasting her usual demeanor, and skill in creating exaggerated "funny faces" for comedic effect. She thinks quickly to invent lies that evade trouble. Notably, she and Chio devised a secret collaborative dance routine called "Manana-Chio."

Beyond Chio, Manana schemes to ingratiate herself with Yuki Hosokawa through underhanded tactics like spying or spreading misinformation. She interacts with others like Madoka Kushitori and Mayuta Andō, often instigating commute misadventures—joining kabaddi matches or meddling in Andō's struggles—which regularly complicate situations, especially for Chio.

Manana debuted in Episode 4. Her full name, Nonomura Manana, derives etymologically from "Nonomura" (野 "field, wilderness" + 村 "town, village") and "Manana" (真 "real, genuine" + 奈 "apple tree" + 菜 "vegetables, greens").
