Description
Mayu emerges as the primary antagonist within the selector infected WIXOSS narrative. Her existence originated from profound childhood neglect, confined to a single hall with only silent maids for minimal contact. Filling her solitude, she turned to books and games, eventually discovering the WIXOSS card game among her possessions. Recognizing its requirement for multiple players, she crafted imaginary companions: Shiro (embodying the "light" of her soul, representing hope and positivity) and Kuro (manifesting her "darkness," channeling hatred and vengeance). These constructs became the first LRIGs.

Consumed by envy towards the outside world's freedom to pursue wishes, Mayu engineered the Selector Battle system. She presented the rules to Shiro and Kuro, framing participation as optional for the girls they recruited. Her core purpose solidified into exacting revenge upon those living freely beyond her walls. It is implied her physical body perished near this time, yet her spirit persisted within her self-created realm.

The game she invented grew increasingly autonomous, her imaginary LRIGs developing independent wills. Mayu dispatched them to infect real-world WIXOSS players, igniting the Selector conflicts. Unlike LRIGs born from humans, those spawned from Mayu's imagination vanish permanently if their Selectors suffer wish reversal. This resulted in only Tama (Shiro) and Iona (Kuro, later adopting Urith's appearance) surviving from her original creations.

Mayu harbored intense animosity towards Iona, provoked by Iona's calm acceptance of her LRIG existence. As retribution, Mayu deliberately paired Iona with weak Selectors, guaranteeing repeated losses and forced reassignments. She also encountered Kiyoi Mizushima after her transformation into a LRIG, dubbing her Piruluk "a LRIG who brings misfortune" due to her Selectors' consistent failures. Mayu manipulated Kiyoi by revealing how her former LRIG, Remember, granted a twisted version of her wish.

While Mayu's direct presence lessens after selector destructed WIXOSS, her legacy permeates Lostorage conflated WIXOSS. The "room of white windows," a metaphysical space storing lost memories and LRIGs, remains intrinsically linked to her. This room endures as a manifestation of her loneliness and the Selector system's foundation. Tama and Yuki (the evolved forms of Shiro and Kuro) retain their connection to this space, acknowledging their origin as fragments of Mayu's soul.

The narrative climax reveals a crayon drawing within Mayu's abandoned room, depicting herself, Shiro, and Kuro holding hands. This artifact reflects her buried yearning for connection, contrasting her destructive actions. Ruko Kominato discovers this drawing, realizing Mayu could have envisioned an escape route—a literal door—but never did. Touching the drawing activates a glowing portal, the "real door," releasing trapped memories and LRIGs back to the human world and dissolving the room of white windows. This act finally shatters the cycle of Selector Battles Mayu initiated.

Her creations, Tama and Yuki, explicitly state they are no longer bound as "keyholes" to her system but have chosen to become "keys" to freedom, signifying the end of her influence.
