Description
The Grand Bishop commanded absolute authority as supreme leader of the Terraist Church. This extra-national organization, headquartered beneath Terra's Mount Everest, relentlessly pursued Terra's restoration as humanity's center. Operating covertly, the church strategically manipulated galactic powers. It funded the Dominion of Fezzan's establishment in 682 UC, exploiting it to control trade between the Galactic Empire and Free Planets Alliance while deliberately prolonging their conflict to weaken both.

Under the Grand Bishop's leadership, Terraism expanded its reach through widespread proselytization, securing adherents across both empires by the 790s UC. Though tolerating Fezzani Landesherr Adrian Rubinsky's autonomy, relations strained due to his self-serving agenda. Following Reinhard von Lohengramm's decisive victory at Amritsar in 796 UC and subsequent consolidation of power, the Grand Bishop accelerated plans to undermine the emerging order. This included tacitly approving Rubinsky's proposal to aid Reinhard's unification, anticipating easier control over a single galactic regime.

After Reinhard occupied Fezzan in 798 UC, the Grand Bishop, distrusting Rubinsky's ambitions, initiated independent action. The church recruited the terminally ill Baron Heinrich von Kümmel to assassinate Reinhard via a Seffle particle explosion on 6 July 799 UC. The plot failed with Imperial intervention, triggering widespread suppression of Terraist churches. In response, Reinhard ordered Terra's invasion on 10 July 799 UC.

During the Imperial assault, Terraist forces resisted, including a failed assassination attempt against Admiral Wahlen. As Imperial troops breached the headquarters on 28 July 799 UC, the Grand Bishop ordered the self-destruction of the Mount Everest complex. This act resulted in the Grand Bishop's death alongside most high-ranking clergy and numerous followers, decapitating the church's leadership.

Archbishop De Villier, the sole surviving senior cleric, assumed control of the Terraist remnants. He continued the Grand Bishop's agenda, orchestrating Yang Wen-li's assassination in 800 UC and instigating Oskar von Reuenthal's rebellion. Further operations encompassed the Rugpool Prison riot in 801 UC and an attempted assassination of Empress Hildegard von Mariendorf at Holly House. De Villier's death during a failed attack on Reinhard in 801 UC marked the Terraist Church's final collapse.
