Brendan Blaber

Description
Brendan Blaber is an American voice actor, writer, animator, and content creator known for his work in anime dubbing and for creating the animated web series Epithet Erased. Born on June 20, 1994, in Texas, he is also widely recognized by his online pseudonym, JelloApocalypse.

Blaber began his voice acting career around 2012, providing voices for English dubs of anime produced by studios such as FUNimation Entertainment, Crunchyroll, and Sound Cadence Studios. He amassed a extensive list of credits, often in supporting and guest roles. His anime filmography includes the role of Combat Agent Six in Combatants Will Be Dispatched!, Erik in Dragon Goes House-Hunting, and Takeru Muramatsu in AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline. He also voiced the character Acca in Wonder Egg Priority, Balzac Yamada in Rumble Garanndoll, Manami Daimon in Tribe Nine, and the Grand Bishop of the Terraist Church in Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Second. Other notable roles include Shion Asuma in A Couple of Cuckoos, Masato Hanzawa in Sasaki and Miyano, and Homare Arisugawa in A3! Season Autumn & Winter. In film, he voiced the character Mummy in the 2020 release My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, which had a worldwide box office gross of over 30 million dollars.

His career in anime dubbing faced a controversy related to the English adaptation of Lovely Complex. Blaber, who served as a translator for the series, publicly stated that he and a fellow writer disliked the original show and made changes to the script in an attempt to improve it. This led to him being fired by Discotek Media and Sound Cadence Studios, and he has not voiced in anime since the incident.

Beyond traditional voice acting, Blaber is the creator and driving force behind the animated series Epithet Erased. Based on his earlier tabletop RPG campaign, Anime Campaign, the series premiered in 2019. For this project, he served as creator, writer, director, and voice actor, playing multiple characters including Ben, Naven Nuknuk, and the narrator. The show, which features a distinctive minimal animation style driven by energetic voice performances, helped establish him as a creative force in online animation. He also voiced the character Petey in the web series Meta Runner.

Blaber has collaborated with various voice actors, many of whom were part of an informal group known as the Scrubadubs that formed during his early YouTube career. His sister, Erin Blaber, known professionally as Plasterbrain, is a composer who created the soundtrack for Epithet Erased. In addition to his on-screen work, he has also directed voice acting for video games such as My Friendly Neighborhood and Potionomics: Masterwork Edition. As of 2024, reports indicate that Blaber has been winding down his voice acting work due to a move and lack of a home studio, focusing more on his writing and animation projects.
