Description
Princess of Planet Di Gi Charat, Di Gi Charat (Dejiko) bears the royal name Chocola, bestowed by her father signifying her status as heir. Fleeing an attack on their homeworld by Planet Analogue, she arrived on Earth accompanied by her younger sister Petit Charat (Puchiko) and guardian Gema. Unable to afford Earth housing, they found shelter with a retail store manager, working there in exchange for accommodation.

Her appearance features bright green hair, large green eyes, and signature cat-like attributes: a white cat-eared hat, tail, and paw-like sleeves and socks. She typically wears a blue maid-style dress adorned with bells and ribbons, symbols of her royalty. Design varies across adaptations: a pink dress in *Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat*, a mature human form with ordinary clothing in *Winter Garden*, and a 2008 redesign showcasing red eyes and an altered hairstyle.

Contrasting her cute exterior, her personality exhibits impulsiveness, laziness, and a quick temper. She frequently unleashes her "Laser Eye Beam" ability—generated from intense emotion—against perceived annoyances, ranging from rivals to inanimate objects. She punctuates sentences with the verbal tic "-nyo". Despite self-centered tendencies, she demonstrates fierce loyalty to friends and deep care for Puchiko, occasionally mentoring her in a pseudo-parental role. This complexity includes moments of remorse, such as guilt over endangering rivals.

Her character development diverges across continuities. The original series depicts her aspiring to idol stardom while displaying consistent brattiness. *Panyo Panyo* presents a younger, altruistic version focused on spreading happiness, though retaining occasional stubbornness. *Winter Garden* portrays her as a reformed adult working in a maid café, exhibiting kindness and romantic inclinations. *Reiwa no Di Gi Charat* sees her return to Akihabara, working at a store while maintaining core traits and rivalries.

Key relationships define her journey: a sisterly bond with Puchiko; a fierce rivalry with Usada Hikaru (Rabi-en-Rose); and adversarial interactions with Pyocola Analogue III (Piyoko), leader of the Black Gema Gema Corps. She shares a guardian-ward dynamic with Gema and holds a debt of gratitude toward the store manager who sheltered them.

Notable trivia includes her doujinshi activities, an early design featuring brown hair, and a period (2008–2013) where Broccodess (goddess of Broccoli Co.) impersonated her.
