Description
Tomoe Koga is a first-year Minegahara High student who transferred from Fukuoka following her father's job relocation. She stands 152 cm tall with a petite build and initially sports short hair held by a distinctive T-shaped hair clip, later growing it to shoulder length by her third year. Self-conscious about her height and appearance, she often talks about dieting. After moving, she deliberately altered her look with makeup and fashionable clothes while consciously suppressing her native Hakata dialect to fit in, though it emerges when she's surprised or flustered.

In middle school in Fukuoka, she belonged to an unnoticed group. Fearing bullying in her new school, she cultivated a popular image to join a superficial friend circle led by Rena. Her intense desire for social acceptance drives her actions, including extreme efforts like staying awake late to monitor group chats to maintain her status.

Her first encounter with Sakuta Azusagawa happens when she mistakes him for a suspicious person at a playground and kicks him. After the misunderstanding clears, she insists he kick her back to "even the score," beginning their acquaintance. They later work together at Benny's family restaurant.

Tomoe experiences Adolescence Syndrome, triggering "Laplace's Demon." This subconscious ability resets days when outcomes dissatisfy her, trapping her and Sakuta in a time loop starting June 27th after classmate Maesawa confesses. Accepting would alienate Rena, who likes Maesawa; rejecting would isolate her from the group. To escape, she fabricates a relationship with Sakuta, claiming they're dating to deflect Maesawa. Sakuta reluctantly agrees, recognizing parallels to his sister Kaede's social trauma.

Their staged relationship evolves during dates, including an aquarium visit where Tomoe identifies with a penguin struggling to follow others. She later falls ill helping a classmate but fears missing school due to social repercussions. As interactions deepen, she develops genuine feelings for Sakuta. This complicates their arrangement when rumors spread, leading Maesawa to publicly shame her. Sakuta defends her, confessing his virginity to redirect gossip, which solidifies her romantic feelings and reinstates her social standing.

Their planned breakup on July 18th fails, repeating multiple times due to Tomoe's unresolved emotions. She initially lies about the loops but is exposed by Sakuta noticing inconsistencies. He confronts her during an Enoshima Shrine trip, where she admits her love after he urges honesty. This confession resolves her syndrome, revealing events since June 27th were simulated futures. In reality, she rejects Maesawa by citing feelings for "someone without a smartphone" (Sakuta).

Post-syndrome, Tomoe matures significantly. She maintains her friendship with Sakuta, supports Kaede Azusagawa at Benny's, and cultivates authentic friendships beyond Rena's circle. By her third year, she no longer obsesses over others' opinions, grows her hair longer, and secures university admission through a school recommendation.
