Description
Alexander Kozachenko, nicknamed "Buddy" or "Sasha," hailed from the Eastern Slav Republic. Before the civil war, he taught elementary school alongside his childhood friend and fiancée, Irina. His life shattered when a government bombing destroyed the school, killing Irina and many students. This tragedy drove him into the anti-government resistance, fueled by vengeance against President Svetlana Belikova's regime.
Lacking combat experience, he aligned with the Council of Elders led by Ivan Judanovich (Ataman). His close bonds included childhood friend JD, who idolized him, and he served as Judanovich's bodyguard. The resistance employed Bio-Organic Weapons (BOWs), specifically Las Plagas-controlled Lickers. Buddy witnessed Judanovich's deterioration from a defective dominant strain Plaga, secretly engineered by the government to fail.
In 2011, Buddy helped capture U.S. agent Leon S. Kennedy, suspecting espionage. After a government assault scattered their group, Buddy euthanized the transforming Judanovich. He then injected himself with a dominant strain Plaga to command Lickers for an assault on the presidential palace, ignoring warnings of its fatal nature. He justified BOW use as tactically equivalent to conventional weapons, rejecting Leon's appeals.
His physical transformation included red eyes, signaling the defective Plaga's progression. During the palace assault, he commanded Lickers against government forces but confronted Svetlana's advanced Tyrant BOWs. Forced into an uneasy alliance with Leon for survival, they combined efforts to destroy multiple Tyrants, fostering mutual respect.
