Description
Ciel Phantomhive serves as the Queen’s Watchdog, ruthlessly overseeing London’s criminal underworld while masquerading as the Earl of Phantomhive—a title inherited after his family’s massacre. Originally the younger twin, he adopted his deceased brother’s identity following their parents’ murder and the manor’s destruction. To avenge their deaths, he forged a Faustian pact with the demon Sebastian Michaelis, marked by a pentagram seal hidden beneath a black eye-patch. The contract stipulates Sebastian’s right to claim his soul once his vengeance is complete.

His privileged yet fragile childhood, marred by asthma and dependence on his twin, shattered when a demon-worshipping cult enslaved him. Branded as a “noble beast” and subjected to ritualistic torture, he bears physical scars—pierced ears, a branded mark—and psychological wounds that fuel his distrust of others. Beneath his icy aristocratic facade lies a penchant for sweets, a competitive streak in chess, and guarded concern for his fiancée Elizabeth Midford, whom he shields from danger, and his bumbling household staff.

As Earl, he strategically manages the Funtom Corporation, a toy and confectionery empire blending shrewd enterprise with echoes of his lost innocence. Tasked by the Queen to dismantle threats through manipulation and subterfuge, he walks a moral tightrope, balancing cruelty with unexpected loyalty. During the Phantomhive Manor Murders, he unravels a conspiracy framing him for a banker’s death, exposing a royal butler’s scheme to test his allegiance. Later, his resurrected twin, revived by the Aurora Society, implicates him in crimes, driving him into fugitivity and complicating his vengeful path.

Slight in build with sharp peacock-blue eyes and ash-gray hair, he dons opulent Victorian attire, armed with a self-defense pistol and ancestral heirlooms: a sapphire ring and the Phantomhive signet. His calculated ruthlessness occasionally cracks to reveal flickers of compassion, remnants of a life fractured by trauma, duty, and the weight of a soul bargaining against time.
