Yuichi Komura is one of the five guardians protecting Tamayori Princess Tamaki Kasuga. An upperclassman at her school and a descendant of the nine-tailed fox, he wields supernatural abilities focused on creating illusions and manipulating spirit fire, which he uses in combat to disorient and defeat foes.

He possesses an exceptionally quiet and often emotionless demeanor, prone to unexpected spacing out and frequently falling asleep during conversations or in random locations, a habit others note as characteristic. Tamaki observes these traits give him an elderly quality. His preferred hobbies involve relaxation, mainly lying in the sun and sleeping.

Initially viewing his duty strictly as protection and seeing Tamaki only as someone to safeguard, his perspective gradually shifts due to her open and caring nature, leading him to recognize her individuality beyond her ceremonial role. His loyalty to the guardian group remains steadfast throughout battles against the Logos organization across both seasons. He confronts internal conflicts like Suguru Oomi's defection to Logos and aids in recovering stolen artifacts meant to seal the demonic sword Onikirimaru. He participates in the final battle to prevent the sword's full release, fighting alongside fellow guardians and former adversaries.

Physically, Yuichi has white hair, yellow eyes, and stands 175 cm tall.
