Description
Dian is a light blueish-gray Maine Coon Jewelpet featuring a forehead hair tuft, white paws, and a fluffy chest. His dark gray obsidian eyes accompany two gold earrings on his left ear and a gold pearl necklace with a black orb attachment. In "Jewelpet Kira☆Deco!", he belongs to the Decoranain's elite Shitennou, the Four Heavenly Kings. He challenges opponents to card games, imprisoning them in cards upon victory for later use. Preferring card skills over direct magic, he cherishes his kotatsu, which he names "Angelina".

In the original "Jewelpet" series, Dian emerges as a primary antagonist convinced humans mistreated Jewelpets. After leading a rebellion and imprisonment for extreme methods, he pursues revenge upon release. Transforming into the human alias Andy Samael to manipulate others, he becomes Dark Dian after losing self-control. Collective efforts, including sister Diana's intervention, redeem him, leading to reintegration into Jewel Land society.

"Jewelpet Twinkle☆" depicts Dian as a mature, wise partner to Leon. He temporarily loses his voice and memory after witnessing Alma create Diana. Shifting to a supportive brother role, he emphasizes inner strength and emotional resilience. "Jewelpet Sunshine" portrays him as a popular idol singer entangled in romantic conflicts between Diana and Garnet. He displays indecisiveness in relationships before reconciling with Diana and appears in minor supportive roles like cheering at events.

"Jewelpet Happiness" reimagines Dian as a cheerful vegetable sommellier with a keen sense of smell. His personality shifts to unusually energetic and outgoing. The Red Moon's effects briefly diminish his abilities, but teamwork restores them, enabling him to form a Magic Gem with others. He makes brief background appearances in "Jewelpet The Movie: Sweets Dance Princess" and "Lady Jewelpet" without significant roles.

Dian adapts across continuities, shifting from villainy to redemption or comedic roles. Recurring motifs include his obsidian jewel symbolizing self-control or a strong heart, and familial ties with Diana—though their sibling relationship remains exclusive to the original series' continuity.
