Dian is a light blueish-gray Maine Coon Jewelpet featuring a forehead hair tuft, white paws, and a fluffy chest. His dark gray obsidian eyes accompany two gold earrings on his left ear and a gold pearl necklace with a black orb attachment. In "Jewelpet Kira☆Deco!", he belongs to the Decoranain's elite Shitennou, the Four Heavenly Kings. He challenges opponents to card games, imprisoning them in cards upon victory for later use. Preferring card skills over direct magic, he cherishes his kotatsu, which he names "Angelina".
In the original "Jewelpet" series, Dian emerges as a primary antagonist convinced humans mistreated Jewelpets. After leading a rebellion and imprisonment for extreme methods, he pursues revenge upon release. Transforming into the human alias Andy Samael to manipulate others, he becomes Dark Dian after losing self-control.
