Description
Sophia Cherbourg lives with her family in a French village, in a home above their family-run bookshop. She dreams of becoming an expert pastry chef but starts with no baking experience. Her journey begins when the Sugarbunnies—fourteen magical bunnies sent from Bunniesfield by the Two Queens—arrive. She first meets and befriends pastry-specialist bunnies Shirousa and Kurousa, who disguise themselves as plush toys while secretly teaching her baking in her home.

Sophia fails to conceal the Sugarbunnies from everyone, including her parents Bernard and Rosary Cherbourg, leading to an accidental town-wide revelation. The bunnies then transition into open community roles, collaborating with Sophia and villagers through their culinary and crafting skills. Some relocate to live with Sophia’s friends Francoise Dupont, Pierre Jeunet, and Mireille Darie, who also discover their existence.

Sophia’s culinary education expands beyond pastries under various bunny pairs: Strawberryusa and Blueberryusa instruct her in jam-making, while Hanausa and Momousa share floristry and floral knowledge. Later, during events like "Chocolat!", she and the Sugarbunnies support Charlotte, a girl pursuing ballet dreams, helping her overcome related challenges. Bernard and Rosary Cherbourg grow aware and accepting of the Sugarbunnies after the exposure, occasionally participating in their activities. Sophia’s path consistently focuses on learning diverse culinary arts from the Sugarbunnies while aiding their community integration.
