TV-Series
Description
Gobta, a Hobgoblin from a village rescued by Rimuru Tempest, evolved after being named by him. His appearance remained distinctively childlike, preserving a round face and nose that often led others to mistake him for an ordinary goblin despite his advanced evolution.
Though initially a carefree jester prone to slang and reckless antics, Gobta concealed unexpected combat brilliance, mastering techniques like Shadow Movement and swordsmanship through observation alone. This earned him rigorous mentorship from Hakurou and later Milim Nava. His unwavering loyalty to Rimuru granted him the rare privilege of casual address—a right others envied.
Prior to serving Rimuru, Gobta braved a perilous trek to the Dwarf Kingdom, surviving monstrous threats through quick wit and sheer luck. Post-evolution, he rose to vice-captain, then captain, of the wolf-riding Goblin Riders, partnering with Ranga, a Tempest Wolf. Their fusion into a magic wolf form unleashed abilities like Storm of Destruction and Dark Lightning.
Notable exploits include dueling Gabiru to shield his village, aiding allies during the Orc Lord crisis, and defending Rimuru City against invasions like Charybdis and Falmuth’s army. Dubbed the "weakest" of the Four Heavenly Kings, his tactical ingenuity and growth under harsh training cemented his battlefield respect. He later aided in dismantling the West Crystal Barrier and collaborated with allies such as Albis against foes like Yamza.
Gobta wields Unique Skills like Transformation and Give Me Strength, paired with Extra Skills including Malice Perception and Sage. Armed with a kodachi and Case Cannon—and formerly a Flame Knife—he employs Battlewill techniques like Formhide and Instantmove to enhance agility and stealth.
His bonds include a mentor-student dynamic with Hakurou and a rivalry with Gabiru, who initially dismissed him as a fool. A comedic subplot details his botched proposal to a female Hobgoblin after departing prematurely.
In spin-offs like *ISEKAI Memories* and *Puzzle & Dragons*, Gobta features as a playable unit with skills like Hobgoblin Haze: Shadow Strike and Flare Smash, mirroring his canon combat style.
Gobta’s journey—from a bumbling goblin to a cunning leader—exemplifies latent potential and loyalty, blending humor with critical battlefield roles. Though biologically unable to evolve further, his relentless skill refinement defies conventional limits of his species.
