Mokona, specifically the white rabbit-like creature known as Soel, is one of two Mokona Modoki beings crafted by the dimensional witch Yūko Ichihara and the sorcerer Clow Reed. They based this creation on the original Mokona from Cephiro, which provided knowledge of alternate dimensions, designing the entity to assist a predetermined plan involving travelers from another world. Distinguished by its white fur, red forehead gem, and red earring, the white Mokona possesses abilities tied to enhancing magical power. Its counterpart, the black Mokona named Larg, features a blue gem and earring with sealing properties. Yūko gave the white Mokona to the dimension travelers Syaoran, Sakura, Kurogane, and Fai D. Flowright after each paid a personal price, serving as a facilitator for their journey. Its primary functions include detecting and locating Sakura's scattered soul feathers, enabling interdimensional travel, translating languages among the group, and maintaining communication with Yūko via its link to the black Mokona. The creature exhibits 108 documented secret techniques, encompassing diverse abilities like object teleportation by swallowing items for transfer to its black counterpart, time travel, supernatural strength, immunity to bad luck, and clairvoyance. Unlike the black Mokona, it cannot see ghosts. Personality-wise, the white Mokona displays exuberant and playful traits, frequently engaging in teasing behavior, particularly directed at Kurogane, whom it assigns various nicknames. It shares a fondness for sweets, singing, and alcoholic beverages with its black counterpart. While working alongside Sakura in a café during the group's stay in Ōto country, it formed a close bond with her. Despite its cheerful demeanor, it demonstrates loyalty and concern for its companions during peril. Throughout the journey, Mokona plays instrumental roles. In the Tokyo arc, it survives acid rain exposure and aids navigation through a post-apocalyptic landscape. Later, during the *Spring Thunder Chronicles*, it facilitates the group's escape from Celes country after Fai's transformation into a vampire and Kurogane's self-amputation, teleporting them to Kurogane's homeland, Nihon. It remains a constant presence during subsequent battles across dimensions, including the conflict against Fei Wong Reed in Clow Country. After the primary journey's conclusion and Yūko's death, the black Mokona stays at her shop with Kimihiro Watanuki, maintaining its role alongside the twin guardians Maru and Moro.
