Description
Misora Kasuga is a student at Mahora Academy, initially presented as a hyperactive tomboy in the track and field club and a rival to Asuna Kagurazaka in sprinting. She frequently performs chores at a local church, often wearing a crucifix or nun's habit. Her background reveals she is a human mage-in-training and Ministra Magi, operating under the alias Joculatrix Monachans (Amused Nun). She downplays her magical involvement due to self-consciousness and a preference to keep it hidden from classmates despite obvious signs.

Her magical training occurs under Sister Shakti's supervision, though she approaches duties with reluctance, treating them like a part-time job. This laziness and penchant for lounging instead of missions frequently draw reprimands from Sister Shakti. Misora exhibits a mischievous personality, enjoying pranks and gossiping, often disregarding restraint advised by fellow nun Cocone Fatima Rosa, whom she watches over.

During the Mahora Festival arc, she undertakes a mission to investigate Chao Lingshen's plan to expose magic, uncovering Chao's robot army beneath the World Tree. Her identity as a mage is accidentally revealed to Asuna during the festival. Despite reluctance stemming from insecurities about her magical background, she uses her pactio artifact—a pair of sneakers named Joculatrix Monachans—to assist Asuna and Setsuna in escaping a battle and helps Negi bypass robot forces. She participates in the festival's final battle, where Cocone sacrifices herself to protect her from time-displacement bullets; they reunite afterward.

Later, while cleaning at the church, Misora overhears classmates confessing personal concerns (including Negi's anxieties and Asuna's romantic feelings) and impersonates a priest using voice manipulation. After the incident becomes public, Sister Shakti punishes her and Cocone. Misora also harbors a deep fear of Evangeline A.K. McDowell, stemming from childhood bedtime stories.

She travels to the Magic World for vacation, intending to visit Cocone's hometown, but encounters disrupted interdimensional portals. After reuniting with Asuna during Negi's fight against Jack Rakan, she attends the Governor's Ball. As a human, she retains magic-use capabilities during Cosmo Entelecheia's attack and escapes with Mei Sakura and Takane using assistance from Mana Tatsumiya. She later accompanies classmates to the Ostia ruins, persistently denying her mage identity even after it becomes widely known.

Her abilities include basic illusion spells and her pactio artifact sneakers, which enable superhuman running, wall-scaling, and water-crossing. She dismisses their combat utility, claiming they are only suitable for evasion. Her magical proficiency remains limited due to inconsistent training and a tendency to slack off.

Her surname Kasuga means "spring-day" (a Japanese location name) and given name means "beautiful sky." Her hair color shifted from red to gray in later official depictions. A descendant, Mikan Kasuga, appears as a nun in the Tokyo Slums in UQ Holder!.
