Description
Ku Fei, a Chinese exchange student in Mahora Academy's Class 3-A (Seat 12), was born on March 16, 1989. She possesses blonde hair styled in spiky twin tails, green eyes, and notably dark skin for a Han Chinese, hinting at different regional origins. Standing 151 cm tall with measurements of B78-W56-H80 and weighing 71.3 kg, her blood type is A.

Academically challenged due to limited Japanese proficiency, she speaks in broken Japanese often ending sentences with "aru" (アル), earning poor grades and the nickname "Baka Yellow" within the "Baka Rangers" study group. Counterbalancing this, she excels as a master of Chinese martial arts, specializing in Xingyi Quan and Bagua Zhang, with knowledge of Baji Quan and Xinyi Liuhe Zhang. She serves as president of the Chinese Martial Arts Research Society Club.

Ranked fourth in strength among Class 3-A's elite fighters—behind Setsuna Sakurazaki, Mana Tatsumiya, and Kaede Nagase—her rank stems from relying solely on physical skill and ki control without magical enhancement. Mana Tatsumiya noted that "as a normal human, Ku Fei is without a doubt the strongest." She won the Mahora Academy Martial Arts Tournament the year before the series began, facing and defeating daily challenges from other students. Her athleticism extends beyond combat; she once scored a perfect 300 in bowling on her first attempt.

She develops a close friendship with Chao Lingshen, working as a waitress at Chao's restaurant, Chao Bao Zi. She obsessively enjoys nikuman sold there but dislikes being a test subject for Chao and Satomi Hakase's inventions. Becoming an early ally to Negi Springfield after he discovers her abilities, she joins his core group and later the Ala Alba (White Wing) organization. Following the Kyoto trip, she trains Negi in martial arts under the persona "Ku Roshi" (Elder Ku), wearing traditional attire and a fake beard. She teaches him ki control and techniques, enabling him to pass Evangeline's test for magical combat training.

During the Mahora Festival arc, she competes in the martial arts tournament again, defeating Mana Tatsumiya but breaking her left arm, forcing her withdrawal. Albireo Imma later healed the injury. Despite her closeness to Chao, she remains unaware of Chao's time-travel mission until the farewell party. After Chao's departure, Ku Fei is among those trapped in the future when magic is revealed globally. During the battle of Mahora, she fights robotic enemies to protect the group.

In the Magic World arc, as part of Ala Alba, she accompanies Negi to Mundus Magicus. After the group scatters during an ambush by Fate Averruncus, she survives by working as a bodyguard-for-hire, gaining renown for dismantling an underworld organization. She hones her skills by training in harsh environments, shattering rock pillars. Upon reuniting with Negi's group, she challenges him to an arm-wrestling match, demonstrating her enhanced reputation and strength.

She later forms a Pactio contract with Nagi Springfield, receiving the artifact Shinchintetsu Jizaikon—revealed as the Ruyi Jingu Bang, the extendable staff wielded by the Monkey King, which she can alter in size at will. Her fighting style combines complex movements and misdirection using ambidextrous techniques with staff and sheath, occasionally leaving defensive openings compensated by surprise attacks.

Ku Fei maintains a cheerful, energetic personality, enjoying training, strong opponents, and food. She adheres to a personal vow that her first kiss will go to someone who defeats her in a challenge; this occurs with one of Negi's paper clones during the Kyoto trip, resulting in a flawed Pactio card. Her journey evolves her from a skilled but magically limited fighter into a seasoned warrior with broader combat experience and leadership roles within Ala Alba.
