TV-Series
Description
Milk is a fairy from the Palmier Kingdom, resembling a small cream-colored rabbit with pink accents on her ears and cheeks. She wears a red ribbon on her head and a smaller one around her neck. Unlike fellow fairies Coco and Nuts, Milk cannot initially assume human form. Her speech patterns end with "~miru." She serves as a dedicated, often strict and protective caretaker for Coco and Nuts. Early interactions with the Pretty Cure team reveal her as selfish, greedy, and dismissive of their capabilities, particularly criticizing Nozomi Yumehara's leadership and competence, stemming from her belief that others inadequately care for the princes.
Her character undergoes significant development across *Yes! Pretty Cure 5*. Initially distrustful of the Cures, Milk gradually learns to respect them after witnessing their dedication. A pivotal moment occurs when Karen Minazuki (Cure Aqua) protects her during an attack, fostering a deep bond between them. This incident marks the beginning of Milk's growing faith in the team and her desire to assist them in battles.
In *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!*, Milk discovers a glowing blue seed after a visit to the Palmier Kingdom. Planting this seed grants her the ability to transform into a human teenager named Mimino Kurumi, an alias forming the linguistic pun "Miruku no Mimi" (Milk's Ears) when spelled backward. As Kurumi, she becomes a second-year transfer student at L'École des Cinq Lumières, joining Nozomi and Rin's class. Her human appearance features wavy, dark purple hair, lighter purple eyes, and casual attire often incorporating floral motifs like blue roses.
Using the power of the blue rose, Kurumi transforms into the warrior Milky Rose, the sixth member of the Pretty Cure team, with the phrase "Skyrose Translate!" As Milky Rose, her appearance shifts to include waist-length wavy purple hair, a white and violet costume with blue rose accents, and short periwinkle boots. She introduces herself with "The Blue Rose is The Secret Mark, Milky Rose!" This form initially drains her energy, causing reversion to fairy form after prolonged use. Milky Rose fights alongside the Cures against the organization Eternal, specializing in speed-based combat.
Her personality evolves from abrasive and jealous to selfless and mature. While retaining occasional childishness or impulsiveness—traits she shares with Nozomi—she demonstrates greater compassion and loyalty. Her relationship with Karen deepens, highlighted by moments like sharing lunches, collaborating during a quiz show, and an intoxicated Milk confessing her love while resting on Karen's lap. She also relinquishes her romantic feelings for Coco to support his relationship with Nozomi.
In the sequel *Power of Hope ~PreCure Full Bloom~*, depicting the characters as adults, Milk/Kurumi works in the fashion industry. Her adult design features neater, gradient-tipped purple hair and professional attire like mulberry suits or midnight blue dresses. Her close bond with Karen persists, evidenced by scenes such as embracing her from behind in the opening sequence and meeting for lunches. She maintains ties with all former team members.
