Description
Suowong Kandel, born an Emnetwiht, ascended from ordinary origins to join the Quasi-Brave—elite warriors opposing the Visitors and the True World sect. His prodigious magical talent enabled rapid spellcraft, earning him the title "Magus of the Pole Star" for his combat mastery and billowing white cape. During the Visitors’ final assault, Suowong and ally Emissa Hodvin clashed with the Poteau Jade Nail but fell. To evade death, he invoked a self-inflicted curse, transforming into an immortal Barrowwiht. This ritual scarred his chest with a dark orb and imprisoned him in centuries-long slumber.

Awakening, Suowong allied with the weakened earth deity Ebon Candle to raise the Sky Islands, floating sanctuaries shielding survivors from the Seventeen Beasts. This deed crowned him "Great Sage." A century later, confronting the sixth Beast, Timere, he forged the Leprechauns—ghostly weapons crafted from soul fragments of the slain Visitor Elq Hrqstn. These spectral suicide bombers served the Guardian Wings Military under Suowong’s strategic guidance.

Four centuries post-revival, Suowong encountered Willem Kmetsch, a petrified comrade resurrected after presumed death. Their reunion exposed Suowong’s undying Barrowwiht nature. Though Willem rejected his offer to rejoin the military, the encounter revealed Suowong’s unresolved ties to the past amid his unwavering duty.

Time altered Suowong’s appearance from a fair-haired youth to a silver-bearded elder, though his iconic white robes endured. Stern yet compassionate, he prioritized species survival over individual lives, rationalizing the Leprechauns’ sacrifice. Rare vanity surfaced when critics mocked his cherished cape, hinting at lingering humanity beneath immortality.

As a Barrowwiht, Suowong wields Venenum—a life-force energy enhancing his physical prowess and spellwork. This power sustains his immortality and grand sorceries like the Sky Islands, yet overexertion risks fatal collapse, tethering his existence to meticulous balance.

In later eras, Suowong advised military strategies while influencing pivotal decisions. His sporadic interventions in subsequent crises, including tangential roles in peripheral conflicts, cemented his legacy as a perpetual architect of survival.
