Description
Tsubasa Yuki holds the position of engineering officer in the Gren Falcon Squad, a specialized unit of the global military entity Skull Force. Her inaugural mission deploys her to Machine Island, a quarantined zone encircled by a perilous "Gravity Curtain" threatening Earth if destabilized. While breaching this barrier, the Gren Falcon Squad's transport encounters catastrophic turbulence, claiming all squad members except Tsubasa. She escapes using the Lady Falcon Pilder moments before the ship's destruction, subsequently crash-landing on the island.
Rescued and treated by the Hachiryokaku faction under Aira, Tsubasa allies with the Death Caprice Squad, featuring Ken Kaido and Ryo Magami piloting the Mazinkaizer SKL. In the ensuing conflict, Tsubasa applies her technical expertise to deactivate critical enemy mechanisms, notably shutting down the Kiba Army's control system.
Her engineering skills prove essential when she locates and pilots the advanced support aircraft, the Wingle. She docks the Wingle into the Mazinkaizer SKL mid-combat, delivering crucial tactical support against Garan Army forces. As the Gravity Curtain destabilizes further due to Kiba's resurgence within the Iron Kaiser mecha, Tsubasa contacts WSO command for intelligence. Analyzing the data, she deduces that only destroying the Iron Kaiser within the Gravity Curtain's core can prevent planetary annihilation. She relays this strategy to the Death Caprice Squad, overseeing the Wing Cross upgrade deployment to Mazinkaizer SKL, enabling the mission's success.
Following the Machine Island crisis resolution, Tsubasa receives a promotion to captain within Skull Force. She adopts the scarf worn by her fallen commander, Scarlet Hibiki, symbolizing her new rank and responsibilities. In subsequent assignments, she continues collaborating with the Death Caprice Squad on missions, maintaining her role as strategic and technical coordinator.
Personality-wise, Tsubasa outwardly projects innocence but exhibits a strong-willed, disciplined, and no-nonsense demeanor during operations. She confronts reckless colleagues when their actions jeopardize objectives. Though trained in hand-to-hand combat and firearms by Skull Force, her primary strengths reside in technical proficiency, piloting, and tactical decision-making over frontline combat.
Her surname "Yuki" incorporates the characters for "reason" (由) and "tree/wood" (木). Her given name "Tsubasa" (翼) translates to "wing," reflecting her association with the Wingle aircraft.
