Description
Cao Cao Gundam, known as Sousou Gundam in Japanese media, is a central figure modeled after the historical Cao Cao. This crimson-armored general commands exceptional leadership and combat prowess, consistently rejecting dishonorable tactics. His charisma and strategic acumen earn respect from allies and adversaries alike, leading to his command of the Anti-Toutaku Allied Army during the battle at Korou Fortress. This confrontation marks his first major clash with Ryofu Tallgeese (Lu Bu), igniting their enduring rivalry.
Earlier armor designs lacked decorative antlers and high collars, while his iconic crimson mantle visually echoes a Satellite System. During the Gathering of the Heroes chapter, he clashes ideologically with Ryuubi Gundam (Liu Bei) despite their temporary alliance against Toutaku Zaku (Dong Zhuo). Following Toutaku's defeat, Sousou initiates the Southward Campaign against the Keishuu Troops in the Clash of the Heroes chapter. At the Battle of Red Cliffs, he wields the Seihouken (Star Phoenix Sword), a blade rivaling Ryuubi's Ryuuteiken, overwhelming his opponent until Ryuubi transforms into Shouretsutei form. Their duel halts when Shiba-i Sazabi (Sima Yi) betrays Sousou, seizing control of the Shinkahihou (Divine Fire Flying Phoenix) to destroy Mirisha. Recognizing defeat, Sousou joins forces with Ryuubi to prevent the Shinkahihou's detonation, resulting in both vanishing with their fates unknown.
Post-Red Cliffs narratives vary: The Comic World version depicts Sousou hiding as a cloaked observer who later challenges Shiba-i and Souhi (Cao Pi). The main manga shows him monitoring Giga's new leadership and encouraging Bachou Blue Destiny (Ma Chao) before revealing his identity. In the Brave Battle Warriors anime, he attempts to assassinate Toutaku using the Shichiseiken (Seven Star Sword) provided by Shiba-i, a plan foiled by Ryofu's intervention; the Shichiseiken remains unused after this failure.
His combat abilities feature the signature technique "Crimson Lotus Flash" and the Tengyokugai Enhou (Celestial Armor), a divine weapon activated by the Imperial Seal responding to his resolve. This armor enables victories over foes like the Kishuu Troops and matches Shouretsutei Ryuubi's power. Character-specific skills reflect his leadership and combat mastery: "General of Red Lotus" enhances special attack damage, "Cool-Headed" reduces enemy defense during solo engagements, and "Champion" boosts unit attack capabilities when leading forces.
