Description
Ryōko Ōkami is a 16-year-old high school student standing either 168 cm or 174 cm tall. She has long light brown hair, golden-brown eyes, and a notably flat chest. Her consistent attire features a black short-sleeved sailor uniform with red trim, a red scarf, a black maxi skirt displaying modesty shorts through side slits, black knee-length socks, and brown boots imprinted with wolf paw prints on the soles.

Her personality projects a fierce, wolf-like tsundere front—initially hostile but softening into kindness—masking her true nature as a kind yet emotionally fragile individual. Hidden vulnerabilities include fears of betrayal and specific phobias. She secretly adores cute animals, especially dogs, and enjoys reading romance novels, concealing these interests to uphold her tough image.

Trained in boxing, Ryōko fights using specialized electrified gloves called Neko Neko Knuckles. She employs acrobatic techniques like flips and cartwheels, specializing in close-quarters brawling. This contrasts with her eventual partner Ryōshi Morino's long-range slingshot support, creating an effective battle couple dynamic.

Her background reveals a stark transformation from a shy, demure junior high student who favored cute clothing to her current hardened persona. This shift stemmed from a traumatic incident: her boyfriend Shirō attempted to rape her and manipulated peers into branding her the liar and perpetrator. Ostracized, she transferred schools, developing deep-seated trust issues and post-traumatic stress triggered by Shirō's presence. The event also instilled cynicism toward romance until her relationship with Ryōshi evolved.

Character development centers on her bond with Ryōshi. Initially rejecting his confession due to his timid nature and ophthalmophobia (fear of being stared at), she gradually accepts him after witnessing his combat bravery and slingshot precision. Despite persistently denying her feelings through verbal rejections and physical comedic violence, a dream about kissing him sparks a love epiphany. This fuels jealousy when other girls approach him, though she outwardly maintains her tsundere persona. Her journey illustrates the slow defrosting of emotional barriers, learning to trust and rely on others again through Ryōshi's unwavering support and her steadfast friendship with Ringo Akai.

The character parodies the wolf from fairy tales like "Little Red Riding Hood" and "The Three Little Pigs," subverting expectations by "wearing a wolf's clothing" to project ferocity while concealing gentler traits. This duality is reinforced through animal motifs and narrative contrasts with characters like Shirō, whose outwardly benign appearance masks depravity.
