Description
Toya, a resourceful orphan in the New Yogo Empire, works tirelessly as an errand runner while sharing a riverside hut with Saya, an orphan he considers family. Their fierce loyalty to Balsa stems from her rescuing them from slave traders, an act that bound them to her cause. Though eager to aid Balsa through supply runs and deliveries, Toya’s bold methods sometimes attract the attention of threats like the Hunters, undeterred by the risks his devotion entails.
He forms a mentorship with Prince Chagum under Balsa’s care, imparting lessons on blending into everyday life. When Balsa urges Toya and Saya to seek safety, they settle in a Yaku village alongside relatives of Tanda, her childhood ally. Later, leveraging funds from Balsa, Toya launches a shop to streamline his errand services, with Saya as his partner. The venture organizes storage and client orders, showcasing his adaptability as an entrepreneur.
Street-smart and driven by gratitude, Toya evolves from a discreet ally in perilous missions to an independent merchant. His small stature—1.46 meters—belies a spirited resolve honed by survival, thriving in the empire’s bustling streets as he balances loyalty with newfound responsibility.
