Description
Misao Kuramitsu, younger brother to Mihoshi Kuramitsu, belongs to Seniwa's influential Kuramitsu political dynasty. He harbors a profound sister complex, marked by fiercely protective instincts toward Mihoshi stemming from an unspecified past incident that harmed her. When he receives a letter—later tampered with by the entity Z—falsely claiming Tenchi Masaki holds Mihoshi captive in an abusive harem, Misao interprets this as a recurrence of that trauma. Resolving to save his sister, he vows to kill Tenchi.

To execute this plan, Misao's grandfather Minami Kuramitsu, then Grand Marshall of the Galaxy Police, provides command of the family's advanced warship, the planet-destroying *Choubimaru*. Misao intends to lure Tenchi and Mihoshi aboard under the guise of a banquet, then stage Tenchi's death as an accident by provoking space pirate Ryoko Hakubi into battle. During the conflict, he plans to deliberately annihilate Earth with the ship's main battery, justifying this act as preventing mass panic among Earth's population at the warship's appearance. His assigned assistant, Mashisu Makibi (despite Misao initially requesting Noike), attempts to dissuade him, even physically disciplining him, but fails. Mashisu covertly devises an alternate plan to frame Ryoko for the *Choubimaru*'s destruction without harming Earth, yet her team is overpowered by Ryoko, Ayeka, Washu, and Sasami.

During Ryoko's subsequent drunken assault on the *Choubimaru*, Mashisu rushes to Misao. She steadies him, prompting his order for the crew to abandon ship. As an explosion rocks the bridge, Misao throws himself over Mashisu, believing her mortally wounded. In her final moments, Mashisu confesses her enduring love, recalling their first meeting when he accidentally hit her with a tennis ball and apologized—a moment she was too lovestruck to hear. This revelation forces Misao to recognize Mashisu's true importance. The explosion and injuries are later revealed as an illusion crafted by Washu, designed to show Misao that Mashisu, not Mihoshi, deserves his protective focus.

Following the *Choubimaru* incident, Misao, Minami, and Mashisu face discipline presided over by his great-aunt Mikami Kuramitsu. Sentenced to fulfill his mandatory ten-year obligation working in a Kuramitsu family venture, Misao accepts gracefully but requests Mashisu accompany him. Minami objects, deeming Mashisu unworthy of marrying into the family. Lady Seto Kamiki Jurai intervenes, offering to adopt Mashisu, granting her status through the Kamiki or Tatsuki lineage. Misao's mother, Mitoto, then arrives announcing the Kuramitsu family council's galaxy-wide broadcast approval of the marriage. This sequence resolves Misao's sister complex, shifting his protective focus entirely to Mashisu.

In later *Tenchi Muyo! GXP* appearances, Misao shows significant personal growth. His sentence is modified, leading him to join the Galaxy Army as an officer. His appearance reflects increased confidence and maturity, featuring shorter hair and a deeper voice. During an undercover mission to expose Galaxy Army corruption—specifically a rogue faction aiding space pirate Tarant Shank—Misao detains Amane Kaunaq, Kiriko Masaki, Ryoko Balta, and Neju Na Melmas under false charges. Secretly acting on Mikami's orders, he facilitates their access to resources for investigating the conspiracy. After Seina Yamada defeats Tarant, Misao reveals his allegiance by bringing Mikami and loyal officers to arrest the corrupt leaders.

Post-marriage, Mashisu commands the *Choubimaru* as Mashisu Kuramitsu while Misao continues his Galaxy Army service. They appear together at subsequent events, like group gatherings concerning other characters' marriage announcements, where their relationship becomes a subject of light teasing among former teammates.
