Description
Taiga Samejima, the older brother of Gabu Samejima, served as second-in-command of Team Shark Tooth (Team ST) until his dismissal by Gabu. He possesses black hair, dark grey or black eyes, and distinctive red shark tooth-shaped earrings. During his Team ST tenure, he wore a dark blue biking suit, sported two fake braids, and displayed red fang-shaped markings under his eyes.

Taiga demonstrates a kind, protective, and caring personality, particularly towards his younger brother Gabu despite receiving harsh treatment in return. He maintains a calm, alert, and active demeanor, frequently prioritizing others' well-being over his own. His high moral integrity leads him to value fairness and respect in competition, contrasting sharply with Gabu's aggressive tactics. Socially adept and low-maintenance, Taiga shows little concern for material possessions or personal recognition.

Transported to the X-Zone during a mountain biking challenge alongside Team ST and Sho Yamato's group, Taiga was tasked by Gabu with recruiting individuals outside X City to obstruct Sho's progress, offering promotions as rewards. Following multiple failures, including a cave race loss to Sho where bats attacked him (possibly exacerbating an implied phobia), Gabu demoted him and transferred his duties to Koei. Taiga later competed in the Idaten Tournament under Gabu's orders but lost in the quarterfinals to Arthur. Accused by Gabu of intentionally losing to aid Sho, Taiga was permanently fired from Team ST and left homeless.

After his expulsion, Taiga allied with Sho's group to rescue Koei's sister, Kiku, after Gabu kidnapped her. Following the successful rescue, he confronted Gabu to prevent him from stealing the 10 Gold Emblems, suspecting malicious intent. Though the battle's outcome is unseen, Taiga was severely beaten, chained to a statue for days, and found exhausted by Yuki and Sho's group before collapsing post-rescue.

After Sho defeated Gabu, Taiga assisted in searching for his brother under the X Tower debris. He returned to Earth with the others but re-entered the X-Zone to help locate the missing Kyoichi Shido. During Team X's assault, Taiga remained in X City to protect the area. Ultimately, he shared the man-made X-Zone with Sho's group and the rest of Team ST, signifying his integration into the reformed community.
