Toshiyuki Kusuda is a Japanese voice actor and director born on August 25, 1969, in Shizuoka Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Kekke Corporation. Before pursuing a career in acting, he worked as a company employee for seven years at an oil company.
Kusuda's most prominent and long-running role is as Shishido Ryo in The Prince of Tennis franchise, a character he first voiced in the 2001 anime adaptation and continued to portray in subsequent projects, including the 2012 series New The Prince of Tennis and the 2018 to 2021 OVA series The New Prince of Tennis: Best Games!!. This role is widely considered his breakout character and a significant part of his career.
In video games, Kusuda provided the Japanese voice for the protagonist Soki, also known as Hideyasu Yuki, in the 2006 action game Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. His other notable anime roles include Kiriku in the 2009 fantasy series The Beast Player Erin and Taiga Samejima in Idaten Jump. He also voiced Samejima Taiga in the 2005 anime Idaten Jump.
