Description
Yuko Atoda is one of six trainee nuns at Saienji Temple, embodying the Asura Realm within its Buddhist cosmology framework. A 15-year-old tomboy, she possesses exceptional athletic prowess and frequently wins physical confrontations at her high school. Her combative nature makes her the sole adversary of a local high school gang, capable of single-handedly resolving conflicts involving temple members like Ikkou Satonaka when they are targeted.

Yuko harbors a complex about her smaller breast size compared to others like Chitose Nanbu and Haruka Amanogawa. This insecurity fuels jealousy toward bustier girls and frustration toward males who prefer them. It manifests when an underwear thief specifically targets C-cup and larger garments, excluding hers, and prompts her occasional, playfully-framed groping of female characters like Chitose and Sumi Ikuina.

Her dynamic with Ikkou Satonaka is predominantly a familial, sibling-like relationship marked by frequent arguments and physical comedy. She regularly responds to his jokes about her perceived lack of femininity or chest size with violence. Despite this antagonism, she demonstrates underlying care, notably rescuing him from a gang. She initially expresses no romantic interest, believing her tomboyish personality makes males see her only as a "buddy."

Character development occurs during the second season when a love letter prompts her to experiment with makeup and a more traditionally feminine presentation to appeal to the sender, aided by Haruka. This garners positive attention from classmates noticing her "cute" appearance. However, an encounter with Ikkou reinforces her self-perception and comfort; she ultimately rejects the boy, signifying acceptance of her tomboy nature over conforming to conventional femininity.

Within the temple's exorcism duties, her Asura Realm association translates into a combat role utilizing her physical strength and fighting skills against spirits, aligning with her symbolic connection to strife and conflict. Her relationships with the other nuns involve typical group dynamics, communal activities, shared responsibilities, and noted instances of physical teasing toward Chitose and Sumi. She forms a found-family bond with the temple's younger cohort, showing protectiveness during crises. Her background before joining the temple lacks explicit details.
