In his initial deployment during the Mt. Minikami conflict, ZX-Tole led Team Five in an ambush against Guyver III (Agito Makishima) during a prisoner extraction at Relic's Point. This operation revealed his tactical command role and direct oversight by high-ranking Cronos officials like Commander Richard Guyot. During subsequent missions, Team Five split into units; ZX-Tole personally led engagements against the Guyvers while coordinating hostage recovery efforts, including the capture of Sho Fukamachi's father. These missions resulted in the loss of his teammate Thancrus to Guyver III's tactics, fueling ZX-Tole's desire for vengeance.

A pivotal shift occurred when the renegade Lost Number Aptom infiltrated Relic's Point during internal Cronos upheaval. Aptom systematically consumed ZX-Tole's teammates—Elegen, Derzerb, and Gaster—gaining their abilities. ZX-Tole confronted Aptom directly, deploying his powerful "Blaster Tempest" attack which severely damaged Aptom but failed to eliminate him. During this battle, Aptom's absorption attempt forced ZX-Tole to sever his own leg to escape assimilation. This mutilation and the loss of his entire team marked a critical turning point.

Following Cronos's global takeover, a physically diminished ZX-Tole returned to Dr. Barcas. Voluntarily submitting to accelerated re-optimization, he was transformed into a Lost Number—designated "Neo ZX-Tole." This process integrated the bio-weapon capabilities of his fallen teammates into his own physiology while introducing specialized countermeasures against Aptom, including cellular antibodies and a metabolism-disrupting virus.
