Predaking merges from five Predacon components—Razorclaw, Divebomb, Headstrong, Rampage, and Tantrum—to form a Decepticon combiner. This fusion creates a highly intelligent and cohesive persona, rare among combiners, due to the shared predatory instincts and unity of his components. He stands approximately 200 meters tall, possesses immense physical strength capable of lifting one million tons, and wields Razorclaw's sonic sword as his primary weapon, which functions as a laser blade in combat.
Within the animated continuity of *Transformers: The Headmasters*, Predaking serves under Decepticon leaders Galvatron and later Scorponok. He frequently battles Autobot combiners Raiden and Fortress Maximus, suffering defeats such as during the Sol-1 satellite theft thwarted by Raiden and the Autobot Headmasters, at an erupting volcano in Peru, and on Mars. Predaking joins the Decepticons' universal energy-gathering campaign, clashing with Raiden on the Twin Star planets and Computron on Paradise. On Earth's Kamchatka Peninsula, he fights alongside Bruticus against Raiden. During the final assault on Earth, Predaking and Bruticus sink the ocean liner *Queen World* and defend a Death Tower in Santiago, Chile, against the Throttlebots until defeated by Autobot Targetmaster Pointblank. At the climactic North Pole battle, his rematch with Raiden is interrupted when Scorponok hurls Fortress Maximus at them, forcing Decepticon retreat.
Resurrected by the supernatural entity Violengiguar in the *Zone* OVA, Predaking becomes one of the Nine Great Demon Generals as the "Beast General." Enhanced with new armor and weaponry, he is dispatched to conquer Earth. At Japan's Mount Fuji, he nearly crushes a human child before battling Autobot Micromasters. He allies with Trypticon to assault the Autobots' Galaxy Rocket but confronts Dai Atlas and Sonic Bomber. Amidst the chaos, Predaking attempts to seize the Zodiac artifact, collides with Trypticon, and allows Dai Atlas to claim it. Fleeing the battlefield, he is bisected from head to crotch by Dai Atlas, exposing an organic-like brain before his body explodes.
Manga tie-ins for *The Headmasters* depict Predaking deployed under Galvatron and Decepticon Battle Beast commander Alligatron to attack Planet Beast in "The Great Decisive Battle of the Beast Lifeforms." He captures Autobot Headmasters Brainstorm and Highbrow but falls to the combined efforts of Chromedome, Hardhead, the Trainbots (combined as Raiden), and heroic Battle Beasts led by White Leo. Raiden incapacitates him with a "JR Kick," forcing Decepticon retreat.
Decades after his destruction, the Quintessons resurrect the Predacons using Recreator technology. Under Quintesson control, Predaking confronts the Dinobots on Dinobot Island. He overpowers Grimmaster, a new Dinobot combining with drones, but is ultimately defeated when Grimmaster transfers the Energon Matrix to Grimlock. This enables Volcanicus's creation, whose "Magma Blade" attack overwhelms Predaking, forcing the Predacons to separate and retreat.
