Description
Heero Yuy, born Odin Lowe Jr. to OZ operatives Aoi Clark and Odin Lowe, was abandoned by his father after Odin assassinated the pacifist colonial leader Heero Yuy. Raised by Aoi and her husband Seis Clark until their deaths, the boy was later reclaimed by Odin Lowe for rigorous training in survival and combat. At age eight, he joined his father on a mission to assassinate General Septum of the United Earth Sphere Alliance. During this operation, he encountered Treize Khushrenada while attempting to destroy a communications tower, resulting in Odin Lowe's death. Left alone, he was later recruited by Doctor J for Operation Meteor, receiving the codename "Heero Yuy" in tribute to the slain leader.

Early missions cultivated his emotional detachment. While planting explosives at an Alliance base during a colony operation in AC 194, he formed a brief connection with a girl and her dog. Detonating the explosives caused a mobile suit to collapse onto her apartment, killing her. Dekim Barton, deeming human emotions a liability for this weapon, ordered Doctor J to retrain him. This trauma deepened his self-loathing and reinforced his stoic facade. He frequently contemplated or attempted suicide, activating his flight suit's damaged self-destruct after an Earth crash and later refusing to deploy his parachute during an escape with Duo Maxwell, reflecting his view of his life as expendable. Relena Darlian's intervention prevented his death during the parachute incident.

Piloting the Wing Gundam to Earth in AC 195 to execute his revised Operation Meteor targeting only OZ facilities, his rivalry with Zechs Merquise defined numerous battles, including their first encounter where Zechs forced Heero's Gundam into the ocean. He struggled with his inability to kill Relena despite repeated threats, ultimately becoming her protector. Beneath his cold exterior lay a commitment to pacifism, shaped by his namesake's ideals and his father's dying command to "live by his emotions."

During the Eve Wars in December AC 195, he piloted the Wing Zero equipped with the psychologically taxing ZERO System. Mastering the interface despite its hallucinatory strain, he used it to destroy a fragment of the Libra battleship, preventing catastrophic Earth damage. Surviving this battle with Chang Wufei's aid symbolized his rejection of sacrificial tactics.

One year later, in Endless Waltz Special Edition (AC 196), he and the other Gundam pilots attempted to retire their mobile suits by sending them toward the sun. When Dekim Barton and his granddaughter Mariemaia Khushrenada hijacked Colony X18999 to enact the original, genocidal Operation Meteor, Heero joined the counteroffensive. Infiltrating the colony with Duo Maxwell, he battled Wufei while questioning their actions' morality. After Quatre Raberba Winner retrieved the Gundams, Heero helped thwart the colony's drop on Earth. The conflict ended with Dekim's death and the Gundams' permanent destruction.

Decades later, depicted in Frozen Teardrop, he entered cryogenic sleep and reawakened during the Martian colonization era. Rejecting his codename, he reverted to Odin Lowe Jr. and participated in Operation Mythos. He later proposed to Relena Darlian; they married and settled on Mars to build a peaceful life together.
