Description
Enryû, designated G.B.R.-03 (炎竜 - Flame Dragon), serves as a Brave robot in the Gutsy Galaxy Guard Mobile Unit. It stands 20.5 meters tall and weighs 240 tons (265 tons equipped with its Mirror Shield). Its construction features a Super Monocoque frame, G-Drive engine, and Super G-Armorment with Laser Coat armor. Maximum power output is documented as either 225,000 kW or 337,500 kW, with a running speed of 300-320 km/h. The robot possesses barrier capabilities through its Mirror Shield, designed to absorb energy attacks on one side and redirect them from the other.
Activated in 2004 just five seconds after its "older brother" G.B.R.-02 HyouRyuu, Enryû's development, like HyouRyuu's, utilized data from Galeon's terminal. Initial technological limitations prevented either robot from achieving System Change into robot mode, a capability possessed by Green Planet machines. Their AI required six months of education, leading GGG to utilize copied or pre-existing AI bases for later Brave robots to accelerate development. Deployed in vehicle mode during EI-06's assault for rescue work, Enryû and HyouRyuu first achieved transformation when Mamoru Amami's intense emotions inadvertently powered them. This enabled their intervention against the Zonder Robo and facilitated GaoGaiGar's formation.
Personality-wise, Enryû exhibits a boisterous and flamboyant nature, contrasting sharply with HyouRyuu's calm demeanor, a difference that sometimes sparks sibling disputes. Early operations revealed a recurring tendency for Enryû to crash during landings, though this issue was resolved by the events of GaoGaiGar FINAL Episode 1.
Enryû's standard equipment includes:
- The Power Ladder: An extendable ladder serving dual functions. In vehicle mode, it assists evacuations; in combat, it embeds the Melting Rifle (later upgraded to the Ul-Tech Rifle firing beams). The ladder detaches for use as a Ladder Tonfa in melee.
- The Chest Warmer: A chest panel opening to release adjustable-temperature melting breezes for ice-melting or offensive purposes.
- The Melting Gun: A handheld beam pistol stored in the left leg, also forming ChouRyuuJin's left forearm. Under "The Power" influence, it becomes the Power Melting Gun.
- The Pencil Launcher: A rifle firing specialized ammunition like ceramic-forming Stiffening Projectiles, nets, or explosives, often used collaboratively with HyouRyuu.
- The Mirror Shield: A deployable shield absorbing energy attacks on one side and redirecting them from the other, also functioning as the chestplate for ChouRyuuJin or GouRyuuJin.
Enryû combines with HyouRyuu to form ChouRyuuJin when their SympaRate synchronization reaches 100%, a state first achieved to rescue GaoGaiGar from EI-07's explosion. It also combines with G.B.R.-06 FuuRyuu to form GouRyuuJin. During the GaoGaiGar FINAL climax, Enryû and HyouRyuu executed their ultimate technique, **Supernova**: dialing their chest knobs to "Level Infinity" (無限/Mugen), they unleashed maximum energy at point-blank range to defeat P-Vater.
Deployment typically occurs via the Bay Tower Base's underwater tunnels or via the Triple Decked Flying Carrier's Mirror Catapult for long-range missions.
