Description
Martin, the protagonist’s childhood friend in the virtual game world, tends an apple orchard with a sturdy frame, short blond hair, and piercing blue eyes. His practical attire—a white t-shirt, light blue neck cloth, off-white gloves, gray pants, and brown boots—reflects his agrarian life. Protective and stubborn, he vocalizes disdain for the protagonist’s wanderlust, insisting “Apples don’t need a doctor” to champion self-sufficiency.

A heated clash over the protagonist’s departure escalates into a physical struggle, culminating in Martin accidentally impaling himself on a knife. His death fractures multiple lives: Alicia, his younger sister, spirals into vengeful fury, while the protagonist bears the indelible title “Best Friend Killer.”

Martin’s unresolved anguish resurrects him as a spectral force, tormenting the protagonist during imprisonment with violent visions of blood and demanding remembrance of an oath sworn beneath the Kenura tree. Only by confronting this buried pledge—reaffirming it beneath the same branches—does the ghost finally dissipate, pacified.

Though now at rest, his spirit lingers ambiguously, offering cryptic aid during perilous moments. This alliance remains tenuous; reckless choices by the protagonist risk reigniting the ghost’s wrath, mirroring past fractures.

His bond with Alicia anchors the tragedy’s emotional core, her grief warping into a bloodthirsty quest for retribution. Through her rage and his posthumous interventions, Martin’s legacy etches itself into the protagonist’s journey and the unraveling fate of those left behind.
