Description
Shingo Hōjō is a former soldier recruited into Good Thunder after his wife died on their wedding day, a driving force behind his fight against the Dokuga organization. He pilots the King Arrow jet, which forms the chest component of the super robot GoShogun. As the team leader, he commands GoShogun during combat, coordinating tactics against Dokuga.
His leadership extends to the secondary robot Try-3, assembled from the three jets, though command during Try-3 engagements transfers to Remy Shimada, reflecting a specialized division of duties. Interpersonally, he engages in playful banter and flirtation with teammate Remy, contrasting with his combat focus. His soldier's discipline guides missions, yet interactions with colleagues and the young charge Kenta Sanada reveal a less rigid side.
A strategic shift occurs when three Dokuga officers defect from NeoNeros, leading to an unexpected alliance. This temporary collaboration against a shared threat demonstrates flexibility and adaptability for larger objectives.
Years later, during the sequel film's events, he reunites with former allies and adversaries at Remy Shimada's hospital bedside after her critical accident. Within her dreamscape while comatose, he joins collective efforts to defy a fate, engaging in combat and collaborative strategies echoing their past partnership. His role includes direct combat against pursuers and tactical support, reflecting enduring loyalty to his team despite time passing.
His trajectory moves from a trauma-driven recruit to a seasoned leader, culminating in a psychological struggle beyond conventional reality where his military skills and loyalty remain cornerstones.
