Description
Dew is a Martian surface dweller and rebel opposing the governing authorities. He originates from the polluted, decaying city above the subterranean E.Y.E.S. facility, making him an outsider to Eve's isolated forest sanctuary. His background renders him resourceful and determined, capable of navigating both the decaying urban landscape and the secured underground complex.
Driven by knowledge of Mars' ecological collapse, Dew infiltrates the E.Y.E.S. center to expose its secrets. He initially attempts to forcibly extract Eve, believing her psychic abilities vital for humanity's survival. This first encounter is marked by conflict as Eve resists. Dew's actions directly challenge the environment controlled by administrators like Sheldon.
After Eve regains memories and chooses to accompany him, Dew becomes her guide, revealing the harsh realities of Martian society. He escorts her through the ruined cityscape, explaining its history and the failed colonization originating from the destroyed fifth planet, Atlas. Dew connects Eve with rebel leadership, including Patriarch Chalidon, and advocates contacting the ancient entity known as the Messenger.
His role expands to facilitating Eve's pivotal encounter with the Messenger, an entity preserving humanity's interstellar migration history. Dew supports the rebel faction's philosophy favoring psychic development and environmental harmony over technological dependency, opposing Security Chief DeCardin's faction prioritizing technological solutions like an escape ark.
Dew participates in the climactic conflict between these factions as the ark's launch threatens the city and E.Y.E.S. facility. His story concludes during the catastrophic destruction caused by the ark's departure, annihilating the remaining Martian infrastructure. Following physical death, his consciousness migrates with other characters' spirits to Earth, where they collectively establish the foundation of Atlantis.
