Dr. Scarecrow, a wizard from the Doll Kingdom, begins as an antagonist who recognizes the devil threat yet convinces only two followers—Puru and Waya—to become his magician disciples despite their minimal magical talent. To shield the kingdom from an impending ice age, he joins Queen Yae's service, oblivious to her possession by the demon Devaul. Manipulated by Devaul through Yae, Scarecrow accepts orders to kidnap Princess Licca Kayama, falsely believing her capture will prevent the ice age Devaul engineered.

Tasked with seizing Licca in the human world, Scarecrow commands Puru and Waya as henchmen, enduring Devaul's reprimands for failures while berating his own disciples. He wields an owl-adorned staff and can shapeshift during this mission. With Yae's aid, he acquires the control bracelet for Doll Knight Isamu, coercing Isamu into guarding him.

Scarecrow later uncovers Yae's possession by Devaul and tries exposing it, leading Yae to imprison him. After escaping captivity, he defects with Puru and Waya to protect Licca. Antagonist Misty then manipulates Yae into freeing Scarecrow, planning to brainwash him into capturing Licca; Scarecrow resists the brainwashing but is captured again.

In the final conflict, Devaul possesses Scarecrow once more, transforming him into a dragon to eliminate Licca. Puru and Waya disrupt this possession, restoring Scarecrow's mind. He then aids Licca and the Doll Knights in defeating Devaul permanently.
