Description
J.P. Shibayama arrives on the Wandering Island after its crash into the desert during the Trailmon journey, landing with Takuya Kanbara and Tommy Himi in territory held by human-type Digimon. He immediately focuses on locating the separated group members, particularly Zoe Orimoto.
His engineering aptitude and problem-solving skills emerge during the reconstruction of a damaged ancient mural within ruins, a task shared with Tommy, Zoe, Bearmon, Kotemon, Bokomon, Neemon, and infant Digimon. This effort seeks to decipher an inscription crucial to ending the conflict between the island's warring human-type and beast-type Digimon factions. Upon completing the mural's inscription section, he joins the group's shock upon Bokomon's translation: Ornismon, revered as a guardian deity by both factions, was actually an ancient oppressor. The war's true purpose is revealed as Ornismon's revival through hatred and fractal code collection. The group identifies a missing ornament vital to the revival scheme, matching items held by the factions' leaders.
He volunteers with Zoe to find Takuya and Koji Minamoto at the battlefield and relay this discovery. Traveling there, they witness human-type leader Darcmon transform into beast-type leader Hippogriffomon, exposing the deception fueling the war. They Spirit Evolve into Kazemon and Beetlemon to intervene and alert everyone. Despite this, the villain, revealing himself as Murmuxmon, successfully revives Ornismon using the accumulated fractal code.
He fights alongside the other Legendary Warriors against Murmuxmon and Ornismon. Following Kotemon's sacrifice protecting murals of AncientGreymon and AncientGarurumon, and the subsequent summoning of spectral forms of these ancient warriors, he participates in the united counterattack involving both Digimon factions and the DigiDestined. He is present for the defeat of Murmuxmon and Ornismon. In the aftermath, he witnesses the restoration of peace between the Digimon factions and Kotemon's rebirth from a DigiEgg, leading to Kotemon and Bearmon's reunion.
